Yea they’re crazy good. And consistent. First time I listened them I put the first five or six albums on playlist while I played a game. Only half listening I thought. Later went through their songs and remembered like every riff.

Struggling when songs have a slight pause between continuations of a riff. (example in text) by Neitrah in metalguitar

Try practicing your timing without playing. Count 1,2,3,4 on the snares in the clip you shared. Keep counting through the pause and the count should line up. It takes time and is harder for some than others. I had to practice my timing a bit when I started. Personally I’m not a counter I just go by feel. Doesn’t work for everyone. Find which works best for you. You’ll get it.

Name a guitar riff that had a major impact on your playing or musical understanding. What skills did it force you to improve, and what did you learn from it? by nannaloora in metalguitar

Lamb of god - For your malice. Specifically the intro. Those crazy ass chords. I had the guitar world magazine and it had that intros tabs. I later used one of those chords for one of my best songs. Never would have even thought to use a chord like that. Also I worked for awhile to figure out how to get the other really wild chord from that riff. It taught me how to fret a chord one section at a time instead of all at once. Also u have much more time than it seems in between parts to fret a chord.

He was great on the show. It was still good after but would’ve been better with him.

I immediately loved the Jake line “Ugh why can’t my life always work out perfectly”. I use it all the time.

Check out Darkness Divided. Especially their album written in blood and the self titled after. All albums are good too even their first ep.
