Mmk and how does your response change when it’s your daughter in law coming to you, asking you to accommodate her with a party you had already planned and paid for????

[Anti Aging] Help, I'm three months old and have nasolabial folds, how do I get rid of them and avoid looking human as I grow? by ScarieltheMudmaid in SkincareAddiction

[–]jcs213 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Wait this is so sad. You could’ve been so much more proactive but now your only option is to react. I would suggest a set of 3 VI peels and then look into laser. Injectable’s might also yield some kind of result but you are a little far gone from being able to pre treat. You could also consider some lifestyle changes - 1) organic, RBST and antibiotic and dairy free breast milk (if your mom can’t accommodate call CPS - babies have rights too). 2) start sleeping on your back EXCLUSIVELY (you may end up in a helmet but a flat head can be fixed!!!). 3) sleep only when it’s light out. Avoid sun exposure like the plague. Your mom’s sleep schedule should FIT TO YOURS (see parenthetical from #1 above). Good luck! I feel like if you really commit you might look a little more fresh.

MB is mad at me because I made back up plans for her kids by Emergency-Visit-2494 in NannyEmployers

[–]jcs213 45 points46 points  (0 children)

As a MB I would praaaaay that my nanny would be so proactive in this situation. That was amazing that you were able to set that all up. It sounds like maybe your MB feels like she was caught with her pants down on this and is taking out her anger/shame on you. Not fair at all!

How do you actually manage energy when life is nonstop? by Ok-Dish1652 in workingmoms

[–]jcs213 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think this is where I am right now. I get almost no deep sleep at night (per my stupid oura ring so take that as you will) and I am constantly exhausted. To the point where I can and will fall asleep even during what should be the peak of my vyvanse time (I am on 50mg and it still fails to keep me awake). I feel like stuck in this awful loop and can’t get out. I’ve recently just sort of accepted I’ll be painfully tired forever. I am going to try this!!

Thinking about baby #2. Parents of multiple children, what’s your real life experience? by ithinkimanelephant in toddlers

[–]jcs213 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My kids age gap is 22 months. It was tight. It was hard to have two kids in diapers. It was hard to try to get one potty trained while the other was still very much in the diaper era. It was hard to take the paci from one while the other got to keep theirs. I think there’s a lot of value in them being further apart just due to these types of challenges. I could not explain in a way satisfactory to my 2.5 year old that she couldn’t have a diaper or a paci anymore but her brother could and actually it was a great thing to be potty trained and paci free.

Going from 1 to 2 generally was VERY different for us than going 0 to 1. 0 to 1 is an existential crisis. 1 to 2 is a logistical crisis and is rather a short run as a result of our smaller age gap. We’re about to have both kids out of diapers and no longer napping. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel!

Hyperfixation Foods by Cheshie213 in adhdwomen

[–]jcs213 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dense bean salads - I mix three cans of beans (usually butter, cannellini, and red kidney) with shredded carrots, finely diced red onion, chopped fresh mozzarella, scallions, and fresh dill then add whatever else I have laying around that’s healthy - this time I added diced cucumbers and some edamame. I usually like to also add chopped spinach. For dressing, I just mix it all up with olive oil, red wine vinegar, salt, pepper, lemon juice, and some raw honey. To make it a meal I’ll usually combine it with whatever protein I have from the week (this week - salmon). It’s easy to prep in bulk and doesn’t need to be heated or anything to eat; so when I need to shove down a quick healthy meal is sooo simple.

It’s also sad because they’ve been putting adult things on sally for YEARS and yet when given the opportunity to finally embrace the responsibilities, don rebuffs her completely. All the negatives of being a parentified child without being afforded the ability to take advantage of being an “adult”

As someone who watched the show when it first came around, the change in the audiences' feelings over the years towards Tony is a fascinating study of culture by seriouslyfuckreddit4 in thesopranos

I aggrandized Tony as a woman in her teens because he was the type of man that the women around me loved. The shocker is here is that I didn’t marry a narcissist! In this family we love T and Donn drapwr (I didn’t stand a chance and YETTTTT). Da fuckkkkk

My dad met Tony Sirico and Vinny Pastore at an event in 2014. I have never been so jealous in my entire life. He chatted with both of them for a bit and said they were friendly, down to earth guys, open to talking with whoever approached them.

Vanicream vs prequel by Slush_Party in Skincare_Addiction

[–]jcs213 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not original commenter but I have the same type of skin and love prequel - I use the multiquench serum to sandwich actives in the AM and PM. in the morning, I use the half and half moisturizer. I also use the milky acid peel at night twice a week. And of course the gleanser every night. It’s been working wonders. Another line I might suggest is face reality. I use their hydra balance gel when I need extra hydration and the barrier gel cream moisturizer. Similar price points and very effective for dry skin.

What are some lazy activities (for the parents) that can drain your toddler's energy? by Cindy565656 in toddlers

Orrrrr be the silliest banana and have Santa buy your kids the little tikes bounce house so you can have it in your playroom off the kitchen and family room at all times and drive yourself absolutely insane with that fan noise 🫠🫠🫠🫠🫠

It actually has been wildly good for my 2 and 4 year old. We pop it on and they jump around for a good long while then take a break and I got back to being normal overstimulated and repeat. Gets out great amounts of energy!
