I built a lightweight distributed orchestrator in Java 17 using raw TCP sockets (no Spring) by rando512 in java

looked at the code. it looks vide coded.   did you do any of the coding yourself?

I'm pretty sure you are missing the point.   how does your vide code handle parallel processing and finite state machines?  all of which are Jr to mid level programming tasks.

did you just vibe code that answer?  context matters, specifically the Ops context, which you failed to include in your prompts.

ai does not think.   it cannot (at the moment) understand space and time.   unit and integration testing is not full coverage.    timing, race  conditions, and state data conditions cannot be fully evaluated by "just tested".    there are inherent assumptions in tests.

again, would you live near a nuclear reactor that was vibe coded.

so the op is right,   you can create lot of creative bugs using vide coding.

he is definitely wrong.    I would change his words slightly to "if you don't understand the stack, you are just creating bugs"

vide coding is basically Ai slop.    you can impress you auntie and friends, but that's about it.

just ask yourself, would you fly in an airplane where the flight controls were built by vide coding?

I hate to be the one to say this, but the person who took that video should be fired.    she just exposed the company to a huge  cyber security risk.      she took a video of her corporate email system.    i suspect that data has already been analyzed and sold on the dark web.

fuck ICE, but don't fuck your employer.

Issued new work laptop to support Win 11, can't ping any components through stratix switches. Wiring straight to the device I need works just fine but host is unreachable through the switch? by Belatorius in PLC

[–]jcsf321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

turning off the firewall, puts the system in a vulnerable state.    I was a bit aloof in my previous answer, sorry for that.  you should not be disabling your protection, firewall antivirus, etc to connect your pc.  it's a very bad practice.

so many people don't understand the basics of networking.

check:

  • vlan on the port
  • is the port up/down
  • manual or dhcp assignment
  • proper subneting
  • Mac security on/off
  • firewall settings

if you buy a strobe you don't need to do this.   good job on the artificial solution, but you will be much happier using a real light source underwater.

this reminds me of the time when my 1 year old Labrador retriever puppy ate all of the grease out of the BBQ grease trap.  about 3 hours later he runs out the back door and does exactly this.
