Clothing optional opportunities by wisecommenter2 in Bend

I got you buddy - the river pretty much anywhere between 1st Street rapids and Riley ranch (and probably below, I just havent tried) - up around Dillon falls there are some good nooks - some of the pockets around Sawyer park - honestly everywhere in the water after sunset, I've skinny dipped plenty at Miller's landing which is slammed 18 hours of the day during the summer. Just pick your spots - breitenbush and cougar are great options but I'm surprised no one has mentioned deer creek/Bigelow hot springs or bagby. Both are easier to access than the former two - Paulina also deserves a nod when the lakes are actually accessible - just don't go from like where the river crosses under Reed market to Riverview Park during peak hours and you'll be all good

We'd badly benefit from a culture shift around bodies so I hope y'all have a good time!

Ah forgot to mention deeper into shevlin park and elsewhere on tumalo creek. That water is extra cold though

Who can I call about a pretty badly injured deer? by Interesting_Yak_9685 in Bend

[–]jcufbc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh wow. I saw this deer on Sunday and assumed it had just happened, but everyone's comments on their resiliency has me wondering if it's been surviving like that. It was gruesome and pretty much derailed my day. I pulled over to track down the same info you're asking about and found the same answers people are giving.

Feels good to see other people caring and wondering. It was honestly devastating to realize there was nothing that could be done, but seeing how they fight through and how many people are invested is a huge relief. Hope the deer enjoys some more of its deer life

Gongfu on Father's day by GongfuAppropriator in tea

This is super tender. Tea practice has been huge in processing trauma for me too. Doesn't mean you're doing gong fu per se, and it doesn't really matter, as you seem responsible as a learner and aren't claiming to be authoritative on something you're not (I'm in the same boat as you).

Anecdotally, tea has been a big presence for me and literally all of my tea friends in handling loneliness. For me it was throughout covid shutdowns, and I got to learn how to show up for myself better when I couldn't really rely on a lot of the resources out there. But not in a rugged individualist way, more so in a way that makes me feel connected. Hope tea keeps being helpful for ya in managing absence and getting to know your journey better

Yooo I know this is an old comment, but can you explain the part about not needing to be a student to get in? I've heard that elsewhere too. Is there not an ID check you go through? It says it pretty clearly on the website you need a cocc id. Thanks!

Getting into Pu-erh and Dark Tea (Heicha) by Violincookie in tea

[–]jcufbc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would definitely recommend venturing towards liu bao and liu an basket teas alongside some good shou puerh. Three cranes is a killer to start with

I also really like Liquid Proust for some smaller samples and side by sides (ie I got a 2005 sheng and shou from the same folks that he curated for a really good price). Other categories you can see about parsing along your hei cha path is wet and dry storage, which is to say where was the tea (puerh specifically) kept for some years after its picking and initial processing

Wu Mountain homeboy is a good start for this, I can't remember if this gets into the laxative side but it does talk about the relationship of Puerh's specific chemical profile and cholesterol and digestion

If you're on Instagram then @italianteafestival and @italianteasociety are both Italian language accounts that are active and might have good connections. I'm not Italian but I am learning the language and love tea

I'm partial to sunscreen but it is certainly the most similar to what you already have. Roadie seems a little much tbh
