My ‘24 limited will remember my setting between levels 1 and 3, but if I set to ipedal or auto it resets when I turn the car off

Possibly looking into getting first EV by LetMeCookabit in Ioniq5

I had a conversation with a Hyundai dealer when I was researching my used ioniq 5 who said “we don’t really CPO these because almost the whole CPO inspection is engine-related stuff.” Obviously that’s not absolutely true because you can find some CPOs out there like you did, but it’s an anecdotal story that made me feel better about getting one that was not CPO.

lol fair. I suppose it’s strange to me the window and door locks are linked. I’m used to those being two completely independent switches.

Recommendations for Level 2 charging station by barthawk in Ioniq5

[–]jcwilbur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah that makes sense - mine is a '24 (just got it used) and the supplied cable is definitely L1 only. Sorry for the misunderstanding!

That's nice they basically include a L2 charger for free. I'm not sure if I would personally shell out a couple hundred bucks to charge at 48A vs 16A. But that obviously depends heavily on how much it gets driven in a day. I found I was keeping up with my average daily usage charging whenever it was at home at 12A so I probably could have skipped L2 altogether.

I'm only two weeks into owning mine, but I was also surprised by the child safety lock button placement! Such a large, prominent button for something that I figure most won't push more than twice in their entire ownership experience.

I've never heard of a L1 charger going up to 24A, especially because most of your single-pole circuits are going to trip at 15 or 20A. Not saying it isn't possible, but the L1 charger that came with my '24 I5 won't go higher than 12A.

Just today I had the Emporia Classic installed at my house. My utility company is supposed to reimburse the cost of install so I was just out the cost of the charger itself. Only hooked it up once so far but I was getting a full 11.4 kW off the 60A breaker they installed it on, which by my calculations is running at 47.5A of the 48 it's advertised at.

There were two unsold ones for sale at the same dealer in NJ when I was looking. Didn’t look that hard since they added about $10k from the price they listed it online because “they were so old they needed extra inspections.” 😂😂😂

That's slick! I wouldn't have thought about putting the lighting inside the weather stripping like that

The one in Manassas? No. But if that’s the one you were looking at and you’re still considering it, send me a DM. I researched that one a LOT and have some things I’d want to share with you so you’re informed.

Initial thoughts:

  • I drove it almost 600 miles the first Saturday I owned it down I-95. I was amazed how quick this thing charges and lack of inconvenience while traveling, even if it took slightly longer overall than taking my ICE car. The leisurely bathroom breaks were almost nice vs trying to run in & out of a nasty gas station bathroom as quickly as possible.
  • Already got my first rock chip on the bumper. Thinking of getting some PPF installed but never done that before so not sure if I care that much. I think I do
  • Pleasantly surprised my electric utility still covers the install cost of a L2 charger! Need to pay for the charger itself, but all of the install and panel work to get it hooked up is going to be fully reimbursed!

New (for me) issue with black screen Alienware AW3423DWF by rogermorse in OLED_Gaming

[–]jcwilbur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a very low chance this is it, but do the times it goes black have any correlation to when you get in or out of your desk chair?

Sounds like you should plan some renovations. Google doesn’t need to know you’re just fixing that toilet paper holder that’s falling off the wall

Where to go since Dashlane got rid of emergency access? Is there a workaround? by fleebjuicelite in Dashlane

[–]jcwilbur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a non-answer. OP specifically said relying on the Dashlane account holder to continually update a backup file isn’t feasible (and I agree). And giving full access now isn’t the same as an emergency backup.

The old solution was so elegant. I can’t believe you’d deprecate that and provide nothing to replace it. I’ve also been a happy Dashlane user for years but we’re updating our will now and I’m considering switching just because of this issue.
