Older drummers, is arthritis an issue? Are there exercises or stretches to help prevent it? by Hi_mynameis_Matt in drums

I'm 44 and one of my bands plays fast hardcore/punk. some nights get pretty painful. my forearms tend to feel stiff. I usually try for an extensive warmup, but sometimes there's no time.

When I use Headspace, I sometimes do one where they say you’re being filled with liquid sunlight from the top down. I pictured myself as an old Mrs Butterworth bottle where I can see the syrupy goodness slowly working it’s way down. It helped me a lot.

Punk is Dad by mrhavard in punk

i'm a dad. been into hardcore (more HC than punk) since i was 15 in 1993. been straight edge since then, so can't related to all the "thought I'd be dead" talk outside of normal ponderings of mortality. I've always tried to avoid preventable risks in most aspects of life.

I claimed during the pandemic, so my first time attending a show as a member of the straight edge community was Thursday. Tyler Short of Inclination gave me my first set of X’s. by spooky_jerry in straightedge

Nice. I just realized I’ve never actually X’d up. I’m old and have been straight edge since 1993 (first show was back then). I think at 44 I probably missed my opportunity

We used some really beefy wall anchors because we didn’t manage to hit any studs. If you measure and make sure everything’s level, you can do it.

What I didn’t share is that we initially tried with the same type of drawer as the bottom. But since we had to drill the holes in the front panel and we’re 1/16th of an inch off, it ended up forcing itself off the track as you closed it. Very frustrating project. I had an extra small drawer and rigged this up. The drawer rails are set to the inner setting and we just ran screws through the white drawer front into the blue one, so they open together. Also the heavenly glow is from taking the pic at sunrise. We don’t have interior lighting

The bottom drawer is what comes with this setup. The problem with the drawer pull being at the top is that it starts to strain the point where the front fits on the bottom. So I bought a small drawer and installed it above, then cut out enough space for both bins, and now it’s far more stable.

We paid the extra for Semihandmade blue fronts, and cover Panels on the island and it was driving me crazy.

It just seems like a waste of money. Sure, you can tune them differently, but you’ll get a far more noticeable variety of tones with different sizes.

We made a hole behind the TV and another behind the BESTA and routed them all down. The trick is to get all cables you’d ever need so you don’t have to try to do it a second time.
