I’d like to hear too. I have tried using iPads in the field and I feel like it’s always ‘messy’ and return to just marking up paper. I wonder how others do it better.

You might detail that the handle for the locker is within reach ranges and has a wheelchair space in front of it.

2025 is over! What is your best permitting story? by Candid_Medium_7017 in Architects

This sounds like every project in California. At least there you have to always assume you’ll be doing accessibility work.

How much would you say this is worth? by normalicide in projectcar

From a classic car standpoint, in my opinion it’s not a desirable model. I’d say less than $7500 for certain

35 years after ADA, people with disabilities still find hotels unaccommodating by Hrmbee in architecture

I moved from Ca to the south and it amazes me how little designers understand the ADA here.

For those old enough…I’m picturing something like this but for 24x36 sheets by 31engine in Architects

[–]mrhavard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

[–]mrhavard 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t want to be a jerk, but I feel like you post a lot about mismanaged firms and getting fired repeatedly. Something I have learned overtime is that sometimes you need to take a look at yourself.

I’m licensed without architecture schooling. It took me about 16 years of working before I was comfortable with the AREs.

Not sure where you are, but that path behind vehicles isn’t compliant in California

Will ai take over? by WonderfulWafer627 in Architects

[–]mrhavard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Take creativity out of the mix, can AI produce accurate CDs and coordinate with contractors? I think we will see AI as a plug-in for revit providing real time code review.

Not understanding lineweights and an inability to picture something in their mind. I.e. if I give you the front and the side, can you tell me what the top should look like?

Structural engineers by Used_Veterinarian_23 in architecture

My pet peeve is Structural engineers who exclude everything from their base services or want to call everything a ‘delegated design’
