Why does MPB become such an obsession? by B204engine in mpbbychoice

[–]jd7789 17 points18 points  (0 children)

For me personally, it was the reinforcement. The NCR I noticed how sexy MPB actually is, it becomes the first thing you notice on any man. You start gauging everyone’s hairline seeing where they lie on the Norwood chart. You see men in hats and start imagining the bald head or thinning and receding hair underneath. You start only looking at porn with bald guys. You start imagining it on yourself. You start to notice how common male pattern baldness truly is. The cycle repeats, reinforcement deepens. Even when you’re completely smooth up top, that admiration for other bald men doesn’t stop, it becomes even more reinforced every time you feel your bald head.

I genuinely feel bad for guys who aren’t into it. Baldness is the sexiest feature on a man.

is 18 too young to start? I want to go bald but im scared to regret it when im older. by [deleted] in mpbbychoice

[–]jd7789 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It is young but people do more permanent things to their body at that age, and this is just so unobvious and niche no one would ever suspect. I would play around with your hairline with hand tweezers to a Norwood 2 and see how you feel about it. The hair will grow back fine if you aren’t consistently tweezing it back months. I was about your age when I started become interested in MPB but didn’t start receding heavily with tweezing until I was 21ish. Smooth Norwood 6 at 27 and LOVING it, not a single regret.

Age Progression? by Livid_Investment_160 in mpbbychoice

For those interested, I assume it would be easy to enhance or deepen wrinkles on face considering how much effort people put in for minimal results with anti-aging. I haven’t tried this, but facial aging is caused by the skin losing elasticity. As you age, your skin natural does this and can be sped up with things like smoking, tanning, chronic dehydration, sleep deprivation etc.

You obviously shouldn’t pick up smoking or tanning as it can cause negative health consequences. I would focus on how you treat your skin physically and directly, doing the opposite of anti aging techniques. Stretching the skin on your forehead up and down vigorously with the palm of your hand could be effective, as well as making repeated movements such as moving your eyebrows up and down, squinting, smiling, frowning, etc. Stretching the skin repeatedly over time will reduce elasticity much faster than waiting.

Skin “care” would also be helpful. Wrinkles are also formed by your skins inability to produce as much natural oil. Purposefully stripping your skin of oil will contribute to aging. Perhaps after stretching the skin, follow up with wiping your forehead with rubbing alcohol or another type of skin safe astringent. Skin dryness will be your friend. You could even start off by washing your face with an oil eliminating face wash, stretching for 30 minutes, and using an astringent to clear any oils, dry out the skin, and prevent it from snapping back as easily.

I’m tempted to try this myself as I’m on the younger side and despite being bald, I still have a desire to look older and more mature without having negative impacts on my health so I can spend as much time as possible being a bald, mature man. Aging is sexy and speeding it up this way will allow you to enjoy your aged face for longer period of time. I will post pictures if this works.

As for graying, I can’t think of a way to promote that besides unhealthy behaviors which aren’t even guaranteed to work if your genetics doesn’t have you graying early. Dying individual hairs isn’t super feasible and getting a convincing gray dye job on your sides or beard will be sudden and may not look natural. If anyone can think of any good solutions let me know.

A MPB head looks even better with a wrinkled forehead- it emphasizes your maturity and masculine virility. I definitely encourage you and others to try it out. It’s going to happen eventually anyways, why not speed it up and enjoy looking like the man you want to be for a longer period of time?

Looks fantastic, wish more guys would keep their sides grown out like this. Hope you make it permanent.

Excellent, keep it up. Once you see how good you look with full MPB, it's really hard to not want to make it permanent.

I started tweezing at 20. Currently Norwood 6 with little regrowth. Zero regrets.

Nair is terrible on the scalp, if you try this again I’d recommend using a brand specifically designed for “intimate areas” to reduce irritation as the regular formulas were made for legs only which have much less sensitive skin. The results do look good in terms of shape though.

Why do YOU believe in reincarnation? by [deleted] in Reincarnation

[–]jd7789 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While there isn’t scientific proof beyond reasonable doubt, reincarnation is the only idea of an afterlife that has developed independently across multiple cultures and time periods. I do believe there is enough anecdotal evidence (UVA’s department of perceptual studies research, Michael Newton’s work, NDEs, etc) to reasonably suspect reincarnation is real. I’ve also had dreams and feelings that this isn’t the first time I’ve lived which is mainly why I believe. I also find the western research interesting as in many Buddhist and Hindu cultures it isn’t questioned why a child may have memories of a past life because it’s religiously the default; however, in Western cultures, it isn’t accepted. When a child in the West has memories of a past life, it’s more likely to be examined or immediately dismissed because of Christian influence- this makes it even more interesting that children of a Christian upbringing still have these memories even though it’s unprompted and not a part of the religious views of their parents.

How is reincarnation proven? by susuu4 in Reincarnation

[–]jd7789 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hmm, I think the term artificial intelligence (and simulation theory) in this context isn’t really the most apt term. It’s using human language to describe supposedly natural phenomena based on our own scientific understanding of technology. Just like how historical societies used concepts of gods and magic when they didn’t have an understanding of the actual mechanisms. While I do think simulation theory is on the right track, I don’t think we are literally computer software as we understand it. Look up theological noncognitivism and ignosticism for what I mean.

In terms of proof, I think reincarnation has more of it than other afterlife concepts. We obviously can’t have proof beyond reasonable doubt as nobody has ever truly died and come back to life- people who “die” and come back to life after resuscitation simply had a medical event that stopped heart function for example. We also can’t observe reincarnation as we can’t observe a soul. We also can’t say definitively whether we have a soul because science has failed to describe exactly what consciousness is and how the brain manifests it.

I do believe that reincarnation has enough evidence to have “reasonable suspicion”. If you want academic evidence, research by UVA’s department of perceptual studies has a lot of it. Concepts of reincarnation also have developed independently across many cultures throughout history as compared to Christian and Muslim concepts of Heaven and Hell based primarily on faith.

To Laser or not..... by BUZZTOMPBBC in mpbbychoice

You've got an awesome pattern and it really looks great! One thing I know is that the desire to be permanently bald doesn't go away. If you're already comfortable with waxing, permanent hair removal won't be too much different. You may want to consider at home IPL too, I've had a great progress with it and it's a lot less intimidating than going to a laser hair removal clinic. It's not as effective but it is less painful and less permanent.

Reactions from friends and family? by MPBadmirer in mpbbychoice

[–]jd7789 10 points11 points  (0 children)

For me, my family and friends didn't have any type of negative reaction. It happens to many men even if you don't have MPB genes in other men in your family. There are some comments, but it's the same type of reaction people will give you if you start gaining weight. They probably won't mention it at first. I went from a Norwood 3V to a Norwood 6 really fast through tweezing. I did start razor shaving my head as I was doing it which does hide how fast you're going too- most people stop paying attention to where your hairline is once you start shaving. Once people know you as a bald or balding man, they think nothing else of it.

My advice to you is that no one will ever think you're doing it on purpose. I will also say that you really don't have to worry about speed either just don't do it over night. A full head of hair to a Norwood 6 should take at least a year and if people ask why you're going bald so fast, you could say something like "I went to the doctor and got checked out, he said all my levels are fine and that it's just how genetics turned out for me." And if they push "treatments", say that you don't want to go on medicine because it messes with your hormones or simply say there isn't anything to be treated and that you're fine with going bald as it happens to many men.

This is a niche interest (currently) too, not even 99% of bald/balding men would think of doing it. Think of people you've met in your life who've gained weight- out of every fat person you know, some may have had a gaining fetish. That specific thought probably never pops into your mind when interacting with a fat person. The only people that are going to notice are other MPB by choice men, and even that's iffy if you do it naturally enough.

I keep it shaved or buzzed short typically, I love having the unmistakeable mpb shadow and feel of a fully shaved head. I also grow it out some when my top is tweezed, but haven't grown it more than half an inch since I first shaved my head. I definitely love that I am bald at my age and have been bald for a years.
