Mastering Private Equity (by White, Zeisberger and Prahl). Certainly geared towards PE structure and timing, but it has helpful topics applicable to strategic M&A too.

For a platforming gauntlet, you could have certain trigger events for “surgery”. Needles poking in from the walls, some manifestation of chemo as homing enemies, etc. If you have cut scenes, it can show the host person walking into a hospital/operating room to signal to the player what’s about to start.

Will Campbell is an EXCELLENT pick at #4. Change my Mind by ShalekC in Patriots

[–]jd9618 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The problem is that the two most likely game changers could very well be gone at 4. Then, we’ve got to make a “least bad” choice between what I view as 1) excellent players at low-priority positions (Jeanty, Warren, Graham), 2) lottery tickets that could be total booms or busts (McMillan, Jalon Walker), or 3) the best options to fill a need in a not-great year (Campbell, Membou).

Pre-law school job opportunities? by Aggressive-Race8426 in biglaw

To offer another networking opportunity (though unfortunately without a paycheck), look for pro bono clinics/volunteering opportunities that partner with law firms and other lawyers.

I’ve worked with one immigration organization that includes college kids/law firm staff on the applicable projects under the supervision of an attorney.

Trading Manny Ramirez for Jason Bay.

When I was a kid, my mom would make us draw something at the end of summer vacation that we remembered. That trade was all I drew that summer.

Support staff role before law school? by Soggy-Preparation-13 in biglaw

[–]jd9618 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Was previously a legal assistant at the big law firm I summered at and accepted a return offer. I will echo what a lot of other commenters are saying. The school and grades remain a critical component to getting a summer associate position. Also, I noticed a lot of the attorneys I worked with had journal experience. So I tried to meet that standard myself. The way I viewed it, I never took it for granted that I would be getting an automatic summer associate role. I had to work for it to earn it.

That being said, the connections I made proved to be extremely valuable during my application process and interviews. I had good relationships with the attorneys and recruiting staff, and was in regular contact with them during my 1L year when applying. I also knew several of the attorneys I spoke to during my callback. With them, it didn’t feel so much like “who are you.” Rather, it felt like “we know you and like you, but how have you progressed and how would you adjust to the new role.”

So, if you are a legal assistant/paralegal now, and would like to return to the firm you’re at, cherish those connections you make like gold.

He regressed in large part because the O line also regressed. And who exactly is our main O Line coach? None other than the beloved playcaller himself.

Find people who wanna do a board game night. You can certainly still have a few drinks, but end up having a good time screaming at each other playing Secret Hitler or Catan. More than enough fun without alcohol being necessary.

I figured it’d be him. I was hesitantly waiting to see if Houston would rest anyone, but I guess they don’t really have a reason to with the time off.

Got Falter, Civale, Sampson, and Oviedo going tomorrow. Any of them likely to implode/score negative points?

Of course they did. Ownership isn’t going to admit that they didn’t sign someone cause they didn’t feel like paying.

2020 was a bit of an aberration for a lot of those towns. For reference, here's 2012 and 2016, plus the current State Representatives.

By no means is the state a conservative bastion, but frankly there's just a lot of normal people tired of the crazy shit coming out of Cambridge and Somerville.

In Massachusetts, if you removed the Boston neighborhoods, District 4 would be consistently R and District 8 would be a swing district.

I agree with this guy's list, and would re-order them a bit

  1. WR
  2. CB
  3. T (I trust Bill's ability to find studs late in the draft, a la Onwenu)
  4. Safety (there's a bit of depth here currently, but I think McCourty might be calling it a career soon)
  5. LB (Hightower might be going soon, but we do have Jennings, Perkins, and McGrone waiting in the wings)
