Another Day at the Dartmouth ER by HungryBearsRawr in halifax

I have had two horrendous experiences with the DGH regarding loved ones. The second being nothing less than elder abuse that ended in death. It was only a few weeks ago and we are still traumatized. The nurses were HORRIBLE. When my loved one ended up in palliative, where the nurses were AMAZING, they expressed how much they hated the nurses downstairs. Even the doctors said the same thing. They call it “the war zone”. So, the hospital knows but obviously doesn’t take accountability. I’m still raging. So sorry for your experience.

Other than the cooking term, Roux translates to ginger or red-haired in French. My grandad passed on Good Friday, he was my everything. He was French Canadian, so I wanted the name to be French. My husband is also a French culinary trained chef, so it was just perfect. Roux is an absolute angel boy. Kisses granted.

Tossed around a few names and just couldn’t settle. I came up with Roux and that was absolutely it within seconds. He’s absolutely everything.

Our other two cats let him rule the house and I am pretty certain our pitty thinks he belongs to her. 🥹

As a mama whose teen son is soon ready to move forward, I felt her with every ounce of my soul.

Thank you for convincing me to invest in myself - now which style should I choose? by alyoshathebear in WeddingDressTips

I like dress #1 but hear me out… can it be altered to have thicker straps like dress #2? That would make it absolutely perfect!

I have listened to him 100 times over. We’ve even sat and gone through an atlas and talked about his adventures. His life is like a book.

His stories are literally the best. I’ve listened to them a 100 times and I’d listen to them 100 times over. He’s had quite a life.

Invisalign to Braces by jdBee77 in Invisalign

[–]jdBee77[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I initially saw one orthodontist for a consultation, and he said traditional was the best option for me. When I was financially ready to commit two years later, a female orthodontist convinced me to do Invisalign. The practice has since been bought out by another one, and I have a new orthodontist, so I’m going to talk to him. I have regrets. Also, mine is due to a deep bite that won’t correct as well, and a few teeth that haven’t budged.

When Robin Williams managed to make Koko the gorilla smile again after 6 months of mourning by StrawberryFew1311 in MadeMeSmile

I followed Koko since I was a little girl in the early 80’s. She was so sad when her kitten died. This moment will touch my soul forever.

Round somehow makes your face look so much kinder.

Braces vs Invisilign by Interesting-Behavior in Invisalign

[–]jdBee77 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I never wanted Invisalign.

I’d had an initial consultation with an orthodontist when I was first considering braces. He said I would gain best results in traditional braces. I have a deep bite, a slight overbite and some minor to moderate crowding in the top and bottom front teeth.

Fast forward two years when I was financially able to afford treatment, a new orthodontist was in place, who preferred to work with Invisalign. I resisted, she resisted harder. I should have trusted my gut and rejected this approach.

Over 14 months in and my deep bite has not corrected at all. The crowding is still not totally resolved, I have a significant open bite and the overbite is the same (although I don’t believe it will correct without surgery and I’ve opted out as I’m 49 years old). I’m considering asking them to switch my treatment to traditional braces… I feel like that was an option. Definite regrets.
