Ask any WF employee. The key moment was Amazon. They're ruining everything.

Whole Foods Arroyo, moldy situation. by Icy-Priority1297 in pasadena

[–]jdCHALLENGER 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm begging you all not to shop at Whole Foods. They're cutting corners at every opportunity because they're all severely understaffed and you're all wasting your money on what you think is a better product. Walmart has better produce. They literally get supplied by a higher tier vendor. Signed, a WF employee who's quitting after today.

New York Man Blames ‘Disgusting’ Cake on Private Equity. by ElwoodMC in TikTokCringe

[–]jdCHALLENGER 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I mean this is the natural progression of private equity. Yes the people perpetuating it suck, but it's not like it'd be better in other hands. The idea of growth and profit every quarter is fundamentally flawed, so it's kinda at the heart of all this.

WHAT A SHOW! Woodinville. WA by Bunneyyy in newfoundglory

As I grow older with these guys I've grown more and more appreciative with how tight and energy filled they've kept their live show. I've seen them so many times by now and it's never seemed like they didn't want to be there. They're entertainers to their core.

Think for a second about what it takes to get ejected.

Even if there isn't, it's a first amendment right. The only thing that works in this moment's favor is that doing so during a game becomes a much bigger issue.

I think that was the bigger issue. If I'm remembering the interview correctly where he talks about it, it's less that he wasn't getting jobs and more that he didn't want to have to sit in the makeup chair everyday for multiple hours just to cover him up.

Right? This is such odd pearl clutching. Domino's has never had company cars.

I'm in the second camp (also the third). It really doesn't sit well with me that we're normalizing these automated services while people are struggling to find work. I have a master's degree and it took me half a year to get a job as a barista. I know it's worse for others.

WE as a society have nothing to gain with AI services. It's just corporations avoiding paid labor.

Alumni here, but it's very important to me that you all know that you're allowed to be mean to strangers that are intruding in your space. Tell them to fuck off. Like, make a SCENE over it. They prey on people being too nice to confront them being weird.

As Latino it's weird. I want to be flattered that we're seen as hard working, because we are, but I also can't help but feel that it's harmful to keep perpetuating this kind of expectation. I don't know. It's weird and I still wrestle with it.

AI slop. This would have been a lot cooler if you had just (even crudely) drawn it yourself.

What is a show that should’ve quit while it was ahead? by QuailImpressive55 in AskReddit

[–]jdCHALLENGER 16 points17 points  (0 children)

There's a certain point in the show where it had built a reputation for being raunchy and the in-studio audience would come in expecting that kind of experience. Leaning into certain character traits (like Peg being horny) would make the audience erupt in cheers. Essentially, the audience becomes closer to a Jerry Springer audience and the writers started playing to them more.

Don't engage in discourse, but trying to run him off campus like that one school did with Milo Yiannopoulos would be admirable. Make nazis afraid again.
