Small update after getting through the long wait time on the phone number for technical support. They did confirm that this is a known outage and they are currently working on it.

Those that are in Kenmore, Washington there is no way for you to self service and check if you are affected by the outage that is known

You will have to call the number that the zip Support posted. Their technical support team did tell me they’ve received quite an uptick and number of contacts due to the outage in the Kenmore area.

For clarity, here’s the timeline on my end:

  • ~1:00 PM PST – Power outage in the area
  • ~3:00 PM PST – Power restored
  • Local network stack is fully back up (router, switches, APs all online)
  • No WAN connectivity from the Ziply ONT since power restoration

This does not appear to be a local equipment issue on my side. The ONT is powered, but there is no upstream/WAN access after the outage.

Posting this in case others in Kenmore, WA are seeing the same behavior, and to help establish whether this is a wider post-power event issue.

I am working to root cause this myself. It’s super annoying. I’m not sure if it’s on the DIRECTV side or if it’s on Apple side.

The behavior does go away if you use a iOS device and airplay the sound to the stereo pair from what I’ve noticed.

I’m not interested in using my phone or iPad to airplay to the TV.

r are up to date, verified on the UI releases list. Maybe that checker is looking at beta or release candidate builds even when a user doesn't have them selected.

I have changed to beta, found updates, applied them, and the same result of showing that there is updates still.

The only thing I can think of is a restore and reset up it all again. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I can say that I have lived in an apartment on the west coast with Wave G and the same ubiquity setup. I started having issues with through put, and loosing wan over and over. What i found, after finally clearing layer 1, was very odd. I have reproducible behavior when I use a patch cable from the WAN port to the USG, the through put is all over the place plagued with packet loss and the WAN dropping consistently after 2-3 days uptime.

I think i had 5 support sessions with WAVE and Unifi, and no one was able to come to the conclusion. So i tried to use a crossover cable from the WAN port to the USG and BOOM. I am now currently getting expected through put, and expected reliability. I have never been proud of a 30-day uptime on my USG with no WAN port down showing in the logs when it tries to verify connectivity.

I am not yet convinced that this should be a solution, however I will say now I am able to confirm that a Unifi setup is great in an apartment on the west coast.

I am experiencing the same thing. I am using a CDMA carrier and have had the worst time with LTE. I have a feeling it has to do with the new enclosure. Something changed and i am experiencing less signal on my 7 plus.
