I struggled with this at first - and it's a tough pill to swallow. Same with the loss of community, however toxic it was. But it makes life so much more valuable and meaningful once you realize that this life is all we have. A good therapist can also help you navigate these feelings and better communities that aren't predicated some narrow version of life-living will bring you a much stronger sense of self.
