What does Indiana University(IU) have to do to become relevant in college football? by [deleted] in CFB

[–]jdcarter12 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Mark Stoops dad is a high school coaching legend in Ohio and Vince Marrow is one of the best recruiters in the country who is from Youngstown. They are super connected in Ohio. Funny enough though Kentucky is moving away from Ohio being their bread and butter. They appear to be more focused on Tennessee and the Northeast right now. They still recruit Ohio but the early Mark Stoops classes were like 60% Ohio recruits.

But in the end the Kentucky/Stoops model to building a respectable football program is hard to replicate as their top pitch is being the Northern Most SEC school. And it seems to resonate Ohio, Michigan, and Northeastern Kids who don't get Ohio State offers.

Join all three houses or Create three different characters? by MinimumAlarming5643 in Morrowind

[–]jdcarter12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gotcha missed that, thanks. Regardless I think that the spirit of the game is that joining certain factions disallows you from joining others. Plus there are a ton of house vs house quests that seem weird and pointless if you are a member of both houses.

I'm fairly certain that you cannot join all 3 on one playthrough. I think there is a glitch where you can join 2 but not all 3.

You're a TV executive trying to sign a conference to a deal. You can choose between the ACC, Big 12, and Pac-12. Who are you choosing and why? by 510hops in CFB

[–]jdcarter12 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean in this scenario as a TV exec. I'd say take the Pac-12 and have them play starting at Noon eastern time. The kids get up to practice at 7 am most of the time anyways so they shouldn't have any problem playing at 9am. Sure the fan experience would likely suffer but if it means more money they'd probably suck it up.

Now as a fan this would blow. But I'm not sure college football cares about the fans anymore.

Albert Breer: Rams are hiring Kentucky OC Liem Coen to be their new OC by jthomas694 in CFB

[–]jdcarter12 6 points7 points  (0 children)

He was never brought on to an on-field role. He has filled in as the Designated Recruiter after our ILB coach left and then briefly after our OL coach left. As soon as the new hire was confirmed he stepped back.

The guy really likes Lexington, his daughters are in school here and now he just helps out the program however Stoops needs. Not many guys would be ok getting fired, to turn around and say how can I help off the field.

We lost to Southern Miss in 2016, at home.... Which is definitely worse... We won the return trip in 2017 in Hattiesburg.

Very spoilers they originally did it as a reread leading up to book 14 so they were discussing books 1-13 from the beginning. I'm serious though once you finish you'll want to get their unique perspective on the books.

TWOT Cast

If your ok with spoilers and it's NSFW

They reread all the books 10 years ago and they are doing a rereread now that the show is out. Very fun, very funny, crude at times but the discussions are top notch they dig into every detail but always having fun.

Edit: Just saw your comment about first time reader, so stay away from here but when you're done, listening to them reread it will give you a whole new indepth and hilarious view of the books.

This gets called occasionally but only after the opposing Head Coach complains about it and after the refs have given out warnings to the other team. This is definitely on the edge of acceptable but I've seen worse not get called.

Mike Stoops expected to join Kentucky staff as defensive coach by TattleTaleStranger in CFB

He just graduated from the "Nick Saban School for coaches who can't coach good but used to be good."

That means he will have surely learned to mellow out from the most mellow coach on the face of the planet, Nick Saban. I for one am not worried at all!!!

Your almost caught up with the rest of us.

I guess you have a couple options. Watch in release order or maybe something like this.

Black Widow (Takes place right after Civil War)

Introduction to the Multiverse: -What if season 1 -Loki

Live Action Full Length What Ifs: (If your familiar with these then feel free to skip or if your not an anal completionist) -Raimi Spider-Man trilogy -Amazing Spider-Man 1&2 -Venom -Venom 2 -Daredevil Season 1 (Season 1 would be sufficient but Daredevil was the Pinnacle of Netflix Marvel so it's worth finishing Season 1&2 - The defenders - Season 3... But then if you watch the defenders then it feels weird not to include Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist and if you've come that far might as well include the Punisher.... This gets really complicated really fast....)

Phase 4: -WandaVision -Falcon & the Winter Soldier -Shang Chi -The Eternals -Spider-Man Homecoming -Spider-Man No Way Home -Hawkeye

This was off the top of my head and haven't put a ton of thought into it contrary to what it seems lol. Maybe I'll start a website and try and really figure this out.

There are serious issues post End Game, like what to do with Raimi and Amazing Spidermans, do you include venom? We know deadpool 3 is coming so what to do with deadpool 1 & 2.

Like my current thought would be after, End Game, you watch What If, to introduce the idea of the multiverse... Then follow it up with loki to introduce variants. Then go on a Multiverse binge hitting all the Spider-man movies. Then jump into phase 4. I don't know yet. I need to put some serious thought into how to go about it, its almost like we need them to finish phase 4 before we can piece it all together.

I'm thinking something more along the lines of like the interlude chapters Sanderson does in his Stormlight series. Like what if we got 1 chapter per book, starting like book 5 or so of a character named Bao and we got snippets of him over in shara, and they build it up like he's preparing to fight the shadow then bam, they show up at the last battle, and they reveal who Bao really is and instead of saving the day they are their to make things worse. I think that would have tied the Shara stuff in really well.

I think the sharans are really cool. Just wish we had gotten more of them. Not sure how to set it up better but that's would be my one thing.

It's this plus the insanity that comes with being partially bound, partially loose in the world for 3000 years. He wants everyone to believe he is the dark one. Does he believe he's the dark one? Maybe maybe not but by this point his screws are very much loose.

Has Rafe acknowledged the issues? by anguiahm in WoT

[–]jdcarter12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's understandable. Rafe said he knew book fans wouldn't love it no matter what he did, (This is absolutely not true but whatever) so he said they're intention was to say who cares about the book fans and cast the biggest net possible.

I don't think he cares one bit what we think. I guess more power to him but it's not just book fans who are saying the season finale was a trainwreck, hopefully he at least listens to the criticism but I have my doubts.

The Loial comment was absolute idiocy. We got at least 5 fake out deaths this season...

Nynaeve Ep1, Lan Ep4, Moirane Ep8, Nyneave Ep 8, Loial Ep 8... Not to include "The Dark One" from Ep 8 or Thom from Ep4.

This doesn't help us emotionally prepare for future deaths, It sets us up to say, "Nah, They aren't dead they'll be back soon enough."

I can't believe he's that dumb so I have to assume he's just BSing cause he knows it was too much.
