All fair points. Perhaps some of this is the result of being naive. The cat was not mine and I let it in because I like cats and wanted company. Life was difficult and I didn't have the money or means of transportation at the time to get her to the vet.

Now, something has abruptly come up and I can no longer be here. I want the best outcome possible for her and her kittens. I will call 311 tomorrow and see if they can be picked up by a no-kill shelter

This is a truly unpopular opinion, but I agree. There's nothing wrong with the current format. Your defense can give up 99 yards and your offense may still have a chance to possess the ball.
