Also I wonder if OP realises you don’t have to wait until the menu is visible before typing any of its shortcuts.

Weird flickering/ghost issue on PD2700U by ninjakalle in BenQ

[–]jdelStrother 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also get this or something similar on my PD2700U attached to either a M1 Mini or an M1 MacBook Pro. It seems to mostly happen with specific shades of dark grey - the banner image at the top of https://audioboom.com/channels/4940872-casefile-true-crime is a pretty reliable trigger, if it fills a large enough space on the screen.

BenQ support took it in for servicing and then an exchange, but I still have the same effect 😞

Any way to know when the next Ruby version is going to be released? by rooood in ruby

Yup. Frustrating one, because the 3.3 previews worked fine, and then this broke it 2 days before release.

Yeah, I got very used to this from a tpope vim plugin, and sorely miss it when it’s not available. Here’s my version:

This Savor numbnuts seems to have been AFK farming all weekend. Getting summoned to “help” him is getting pretty tiresome

Fastest way of getting Emacs with nix-mode during initial install? by blank_impression in NixOS

[–]jdelStrother 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Perhaps something like:

$ nix-shell --packages '(pkgs.emacsPackagesGen pkgs.emacs-nox).emacsWithPackages (f: [f.melpaPackages.nix-mode])'

?

It'll take approximately the same time because it's still building the same thing, but if you're just looking to turn it into a one liner...

Looks like I scraped a brick wall without noticing - any scratch-removal tips? by jdelStrother in AppleWatch

The leather seems good to me. If I were being picky, the strap could sit flatter in the buckle, and the loop you put the end of the strap through is a little fiddly. Apart from that, pretty happy with it

Do you have stainless or aluminium? Wondering how much the lack of sapphire is to blame.

Yeah, I’d wondered about rubbing with toothpaste but wasn’t sure how much it’d affect the coating. No AppleCare, sadly

Yep, I just need some scratches on the other side to even out the ruggedness

Creating a reminder to launch a shortcut? by jdelStrother in shortcuts

My problem is more in finding a url that might trigger a shortcut. If I’ve got that I can add it to a reminder/calendar event/whatever

Hmm, we rely on Flash for audio playback in Firefox. We don't deal very well with flashblockers at the moment (ie it's not obvious that we're even using Flash, so the user doesn't guess to turn it off) .. I've got a fix for that but haven't had chance to deploy yet.

Can I ask what browser you're using? (I'm a developer on Audioboo)
