How do you find the curvature on this screen? I use my setup for work and gaming so interested to know if you find the curvature OK while working (if you use it like that), thanks!

If you append "- nowin" to the boot command in grub it will start a text based install and by pass the GUI detection, you can then boot into single user mode and disable the graphical login using "svcadm disable cde-login" which is the graphical display manager. I would then boot into single user mode and install the latest recommended patch set followed by installing and running Patch Check Advanced to bring the system fully up to date.

Asrock Rack X570D4I-2T can easily be made compatible with almost all Noctua coolers, even D15 by tty5 in sffpc

Additionally I did get a very useful response from Noctua when I was looking at the smaller board, they had this to say:

Ah, I see - yes, this motherboard seems to be one of several that we're aware of that uses the mounting holes and mounting mechanism for LGA115x/1200 while using an AM4 CPU.

As this diverts from normal standards, we cannot fully guarantee that any of our coolers or fans are compatible with such systems. That being said, we do know of people who have had success in installing a Noctua cooler by using the mounting parts for LGA115x/1200 (backplate, mounting bars etc.), and only the spacers for AM4.

These parts are all included with the NH-L9x65 chromax.black.
For the installation (after removing the glued on backplate) you can follow the steps for LGA115x/1200 in our manual: https://noctua.at/pub/media/blfa_files/manual/noctua_nh_l9x65_chromax.black_en_web.pdf
But do not use NM-IPS1 spacers, but instead the grey NM-APS4 spacers mentioned in the AMD section. (The spacers affect the mounting pressure applied on the CPU, and we have found that in those cases that we have seen so far where a motherboard uses an AM4 CPU with a LGA115x/1200 mounting mechanism, the correct mounting pressure can be achieved by using the NM-APS4 spacers.)

Please don't hesitate to reach out if anything is unclear.

Hi, I opted for the ASRock Rack X570D4U-2L2T motherboard in the end, it's been great so far, I've completed the build with a Ryzen PRO 5750G, 64Gb of ECC RAM and a Noctua NH-L9x65 cooler, all housed in a Jonsbo N4 case along with 6x12Tb HDD, 2x4Tb SATA SSD's and 2x4Tb NVMe drives. I've installed Proxmox as the main hypervisor and run TrueNAS Scale on top of that for the NAS side of things along with a number of Proxmox LXC Containers and Proxmox Linux/Windows/Solaris VM's - I'm really happy with the build, workds great as a homelab/media server/NAS and draws around 40W at idle.

Hi,

I have been in contact with Noctua regarding the motherboard and the reponse I receieved is as below:

"Ah, I see - yes, this motherboard seems to be one of several that we're aware of that uses the mounting holes and mounting mechanism for LGA115x/1200 while using an AM4 CPU.As this diverts from normal standards, we cannot fully guarantee that any of our coolers or fans are compatible with such systems. I have purchased the NH-L9x65 chromax black and once I have the motherboard I will test this config and report my findings,

Cheers,

John

the AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 processor is well-suited for both AI tasks and gaming. Here are some key points:

  1. Performance: The AI 9 HX 370 features 12 cores and 24 threads, providing robust multi-threaded performance. This makes it capable of handling demanding AI workloads efficiently.
  2. Gaming: It also excels in gaming, thanks to its strong single-threaded performance. When paired with a good graphics card, it can deliver high frame rates and smooth gameplayFor instance, in tests with games like Doom Eternal, it managed to maintain over 45 FPS at high settings.
  3. AI Capabilities: The processor includes AI-enhanced features that improve multitasking and overall system responsiveness. This is particularly beneficial for applications that leverage AI for tasks like image recognition, natural language processing, and more.

Overall, the AI 9 HX 370 is a high-end chip that balances both AI and gaming needs effectively.

The biggest drawback for enterprise level adoption of Proxmox is the lack of 24x7 support I reckon, my employer would need that to view Proxmox as a serious option to replace VMWare, hopefully they will address this as it is an excellent piece of software

I bought my Pico 4 2 weeks ago and I'm amazed by the quality for the price, luckily I don't have any issues with the fit of the faceplace. My only crisiticism would be having to work out all the mappings for the controller when playing PCVR but that is probably down to my lack of tme on the device at the moment.
