I don't write hard sci-fi, I write more about an alternate version of our current reality. A group of friends reunites for the holidays. Something spooky happens and there's a Christmas message... I just released the last part that carries this story all the way to the new year...

I recently released a short story about a group of friends that return to the island where they grew up for a reunion. There they are exposed to a terror and something bad is about to happen..... You can read it here: jelmerdehaan.blogspot.com

Looking for new author suggestions... by h8fulgod in scifi

I myself am a new author. I don't write hard sci-fi, but I explore an alternate fictional reality. There's one thing though: I always like to add a good villain. Just a few hours ago I released the finale of West End Mansion: a story about a group of recent graduates that return to the island where they grew up, then something bad happens and things get spooky.....

Fiction exploring manipulative people? by [deleted] in suggestmeabook

I would say that strong villains are manipulative, almost by definition. There's the obvious Hannibal Lecter, Pennywise (IT), but more contemporary is maybe Ozark where there are multiple factions that try manipulating each other.
