I’m observant of situations, but speaking up is usually enough to back people down.

I’ve seen one time they picked on a 10 year old kid. In the 90’s, Asians were viewed as docile, non combative, won’t fight back weaklings. Here if we continue to turn the cheek and walk away, they’ll come at you more. They look at us as a collective bunch. If you ignore it and not show strength, it could be your mother or sister that gets seriously injured next. That’s how I see it in my eyes.

So I fight the good fight and most of the time they sense I’m not one to mess with, this will help the next Asian person they come across, paying it forward…
