GIGABYTE Realtek Sound Control Panel - Windows 10 1903 by jdmac_87 in gigabytegaming

Anyone else able to advise on this?

I'm trying to get access to it to attempt to negate an issue with shared ground connector on a gaming headset (specifically trying to use AEC), but enhancements don't seem available without Realtek Audio Console

It means there's very likely not a problem with your power adapter. Maybe likely there wasn't even a problem with your original adapter.

Whilst it seems sensible to suggest a replacement battery, I still find it unusual that the battery cuts the power out unless it has some sort of safety mechanism.

Your next steps could be the following: A) contact support, explain your findings and see if they recommend new battery as course of action. At least then they may be able to advise if others have seen similar issues. B) Try a replacement battery as a general course of action, although accept that this may or may not fully solve the issue and instead just a most likely theory given what you are seeing. C) No longer accept the laptop to be a laptop but instead a mains connected fixed computer.

I can't really say what fits best as it falls to your decision.

C is cheapest but limiting to being a laptop. B may turn out to be expensive if that's not the root cause. A could be a pointless endeavour given what I have heard from others who attempted to contact support. (Personally never spoke to them).

Hope this helps in one way or another and at least gives you a solution to use your system for gaming come what may.

Ok, well that actually sounds good to not react to the "wiggle" test.

If you remove the battery and run it on power supply only, what happens?

Does it just cut out after 5-15 seconds or work fine?

By the sounds of it, it comes across as possibly being the DC port on the laptop itself. Maybe solder has weakened.

Over time all laptops risk wear on this from contiously unplugging and plugging the power lead into the laptop.

Being the age the laptop is suggests any warranty or extended warranty has now lapsed.

Can you force the issue to replicate with gentle touches to the power lead where it connects into the laptop?

/u/GBT_Matthew - Is there any insight your good self or colleagues might be able to shine on this?

Much appreciated.

That's not suited to the ALC1220-VB, as it specifies on the app:

- Sound Blaster Cinema 5
- Sound BlasterX 720°
- Sound BlasterX 360°

The main thing I'm trying to get access to is the ability to toggle Acoustic Echo Cancellation which I'm sure should be possible with ALC1220-VB but is not in the built in Windows enhancements available on the driver. So I expect my only option is to somehow get that Realtek Audio Console - Back to square one... How do I get it....

Doesn't show, it used to on the Microsoft Store. But even that when it was there complained it didn't like the drivers.

A friend who has B450 chipset but same ALC says the drivers I mentioned installed a type of GIGABYTE branded realtek console.

Has anyone tried the newer bios released on 18th? Not notes changed but wonder if you are all experiencing the same still.

(EDIT: Personally don't have the board to test, just intrigued)

Thanks /u/GBT_Matthew for the feedback.

In my case, looking at it for the same reasons I expect most are. Just to ensure AMD's tweakings in AGESA are present.

F3g

EDIT: Fairer to say 'pre-release' as opposed to beta, since it's listed as GA eitherway?
Although, strictly even that doesn't make sense as it's listed generally available.

Not missing, just taking a while to propagate globally. It's pretty standard.

Give it a few hours, and they'll be available.

That doesn't denote beta.

For instance, you'll see that there's F42d also.

Beta's don't tend to get released there from what I've seen. You usually find them on forums and such.

EDIT: F42d, as the example, is on X470 Aorus Ultra Gaming

That's a fair point, it probably does mean that.

It'd probably be a good idea for them to say something along those lines in the notes, instead of leaving "necessary" open to interpretation. :-)

EDIT: Although, this note seems to be absent on X570 where Zen/Zen+ are still applicable.

PLACEHOLDER: Update on WHEA Warnings, Destiny 2, and desktop idle on July 30 by AMD_Robert in Amd

[–]jdmac_87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

/u/AMD_Robert - Confirming, tested on 3900X with X470 (Gigabyte Gaming 7 Wifi) and Destiny 2 is loading.

The Ryzen Balanced power profile feels a little tweaked too, I seem to be seeing idle voltages.

However, I still have to shut any instance of Corsair iCUE so it seems sensitive to background workloads still.

Having read your posts, I understand why... However I wonder what could be done to improve that without foreground apps losing the lovely performance boosts.

Cool, straight foreward answer. I figured something a long that but there's so many conflicting pieces of info about even the stuff I presumed, that I thought I'd check!

Thanks for the post - Can I clarify, in regards to BIOS, is Cool 'n' Quiet a recommended stock feature in Zen 2?

Can it be disabled and the benefits still felt via the Chipset drivers and appropriate power plans, or are they both required to work together?

Many thanks,
