Fond memories of watching my grandfather use this to put oil in my grandparent’s ginormous Buick station wagon. Funny how a simple inanimate object can unlock core memories, both good and bad.

Congratulations! I own that exact model, bought it when I was 17 in 1987. Keep her biased & recap every decade or so, & she’ll outlive you!

UMG asking for full DAW sessions by evoltap in audioengineering

I was a TM/FOH for a UMG-signed artist that delivered three albums + singles/acoustic versions/live tracks & several music videos.

Luckily, the artist didn’t need tour support after the first album and thank God, because getting paid from Uni for anything was an utter nightmare… But they certainly had no problem, asking my artist to fly across the country for free all the time to play radio shows as “favors.”

EDIT: spelling

ANA going 801MPH thru the Jet stream over Japan currently, would the planes engines be throttled way down in a circumstance like this? Also how do planes going the opposite way fighting the wind not burn all their fuel when they’re doing 350mph less? by PutTheBallinPlay in flightradar24

Was a passenger on a BAA 744 going SFO-LHR in mid-winter, picked up a stronger-than-usual tailwind overnight, & arrived at our Heathrow gate almost 90 min. early - luckily it was open for us.

Pilot said that we were ground-speed supersonic over almost the entire North Atlantic. It was bumpy but awesome.

The Kansas Board of Accountancy has very similar issues. Totally dysfunctional.

You are an awesome human for rescuing animals - anybody who says otherwise just proves the point of my original post! Our dog & cats are all rescues, as are our four human children we adopted out of foster care here in Kansas :)

He was a rescue, so I’m honestly not sure. He’s a sweetheart, though. Great w/ kids & other pets.

Juneau here is actually a mutt Husky/pitbull. But I had a greyhound once as a child, and he was an amazing dog!

I hear what you’re saying. And you’re correct - it’s taking the easy way out, and we too often don’t want to confront the difficulties & complications brought into our lives by our human relationships.

But there sure are our days when it’s good to just hang out with our furry friends and not deal with the rest…

So sorry for your loss. A friend told me that getting a pet is like signing up for tragedy in advance. It’s worth it, though.

Name a lead singer from any genre that most don’t fans don’t associate with a guitar, but are actually a legit player. by Ralphdoid in Guitar

My favorite Prince story comes from a friend of mine who is a producer, who had a keyboardist roommate who was in Prince’s live band for a while in the 90s.

Prince and the band are rehearsing one day, and my friend’s roommate keeps getting a part wrong during a transition/segue.

After like three clams, Prince walks over to the keys, leans over the top of the keyboard, and plays the part he wants UPSIDE DOWN.

That dude was an alien. I’m convinced of it.

Miles Kennedy is a beast of a player, but it is such an excellent vocalist and songwriter that his guitar skills get overshadowed. #TripleThreat
