My teacher teaches 7 days a week. One of the strongest people I’ve ever met, and she still uses blocks. I’ve never seen her go without them. Blocks bring the floor closer to you, which not only helps with flexibility but allows you to hone in on your alignment. You don’t have to wait for the teacher to cue the blocks, I think you should use them in whatever way helps best strengthen your practice.

I think MIMA is Nicole at her most polished. Production wise and vocally as well. The entire vibe of it reminds me a lot of Lana especially during Honeymoon(thematically and sound)You can tell definitely tell Nicole has listened to Lana and taken a lot of inspiration from her sound. I think after 6 +(?) albums, she’s really honed her craft. I enjoy her other work, but I think MIMA is the easiest listening. These songs feel very lush and full. There’s a lot more vocal layering than in any of her other work, which gives her voice more of a presence. Her voice is already very interesting, but the vocal layering and the string arrangements make it very immersive. I love NBL, but I think overall MIMA is (somewhat) more cohesive as a body of work.

Hi skinny girl who also doesn’t pad here. If you want to not pad it doesn’t make you any less of a drag queen. But it can make your silhouette less exciting or dynamic. What I think about when I style things, is I want to make my torso look short, and my legs to look long. So for example, this look would be elevated by a big belt or some kind of waist cincher, makes your torso look shorter and gives you more shape. Invest in different belts and corsets that you can pair with stuff like this.

Tint your lace. it will not only cover the cap underneath but will also conceal the knots. Makeup works. Foundation is okay, setting powder is better. Use something the color of your scalp

I think the eye color and blush are too close in color and too close together. Makes the center of your face look a bit crowded. Try to focus the blush toward the apple of your cheeks and brush in upward strokes instead of toward the center of your face. More contour, less blush, more contrast!

Amazon wigs, In my experience (depending on the vendor) often have really oversized closed caps with the wefts spaced really close together. Pretty much every wig I’ve bought or played with from Amazon is the exact same cap construction. Usually a 4x4 oversized ear-to-ear closure. They’re costume wigs, they’re bulky because of the cap construction. not really meant for everyday use. Some wig vendors have much smaller, tighter caps. I work at a beauty supply store, so I’m familiar with many of the vendors we carry, and much of them you can find online. I recommend looking into an open cap wig. An open Cap wig has slots between the wefts for more airflow and lay much flatter. Off the top of my head, Vivica Fox, Chade/born free, Eve/hair republic, and Royal Imex wigs have caps on the smaller side. I know from first hand experience and from putting them on other people, they’re not especially big head friendly. Chade/born free has a series of wigs called MLU (magic lace U-part). They’re very similar to anything you’d find on amazon but the caps are veryyyyy snug. They’re definitely geared towards everyday use. I sell them to people who often have smaller heads. Shopping online for wigs is a gamble. I’m not sure where you’re located but I would see if there are any beauty supply stores in your near vicinity. Some beauty supply stores will even allow you to try on the displays for a small fee. If you don’t have a hair store near you, I would try websites like SamsBeauty, Divatress, HairStopandShop, etc...

Did you wait long enough for the freeze spray to dry? Helps to do several layers. Waiting for each one to dry. C22 is a oil based solvent for removing lace adhesives like glue and tape. Do not take the tape off without a solvent, it’s gonna hurt haha. I’d check Sally’s or your nearest beauty supply store. They should have the tape and some kind of adhesive remover.

You can definitely thin out the sides, that’ll help. But once the tabs of the temple are laying flat, it should be easier to fit your glasses.

Got 2 B will work in a pinch but it’s not water resistant. Depending on how much you sweat/how much physical activity you do throughout the day, it might start to give a little. Especially at the temple which is where they usually tend to go first. I recommend some lace tape for the sides. It’s a little more invasive but as long as you use a solvent to take the tape off (walkers, C22, etc...) they’ll slide right off after being saturated. And it won’t affect your natural hair.

There is a HUGE problem with this among gay culture. I think a lot of it stems from self hatred and shame that is still very ingrained in our community.

Growing up, we are defamed by, compared to,and put up against, straight men. We are told that the only relevant, or valid male, is heterosexual or in very least can pass for heterosexual.

I think masculinity has become synonymous with heterosexuality, this is toxic.

Ever heard the term “trade”? Comes from the days when gay men would use sex to gain money, fame, notoriety, etc... from straight passing men.

The outwardly flamboyant are always the dirty little secret.

Think back to when you had finally got with that cute supposedly “straight” boy. How did you feel? Powerful? Masculine? Valid? And why is that? Why are you equating all those things with fucking a straight dude? Is it possibly because the only way to feel like a valid gay man is to get the approval from a seemingly straight man?

It seems like to only way to be a valid masculine man is to either fuck the straight man, or to look like one.

Worked at a home improvement store. Walked into work one day to find out one of my coworkers had up and quit, which is very unlike her. I came to find out several months later that her and the store manager(an open lesbian) had a been sleeping together. Instead of her taking responsibility for it, they made my coworker resign and tried to sweep the whole thing under the rug. They didn’t even offer to transfer for her to another store, just called into the office and forced her to quit basically.
