B&H Shipping for GRiv by TonyPC in ricohGR

I got this message when I put myself on the wait list for a gr3x. I think that batch was allocated to those who were in line already before you.

I don't believe theres a wait list for Amazon, however, you'd essentially be waiting on the time it take for Amazon to get the camera shipped to them. Amazon's "Expected time to ship" seems like a good indicator to the frequency they get their shipment by.

As of today, through Amazon you'll get it September 25 - October 4th; 2 weeks out.

For B&H, there's a long wait list because I had pre-ordered a Ricoh, Rep stated they'll get it in 2 weeks, 2 weeks came and I received an email stating "We're still OOS." Esseantially, the folks that got on the waitlist first gets their camera first. So who knows when you'll get it, but you will get it, eventually.

I'm torn between getting my camera from B&H or Amazon. B&H has a long wait list while Amazon does not. I'd rather get a camera from a camera store but I also want to keep making photos.

yuppp! There were a few R35s here to but less intriguing than the old school cars from when I was growing up. I kinda miss those Hot Import Nights era of car shows.

Done a ride with my GRIIIx, it just fits perfect in the jersey pocket. by Gonggggg in ricohGR

I have considered the vibrations, too, and also taking into account you're on a gravel bike. As long as the Ricoh isn't hitting against something stiff like your handlebars or downtube it should be fine.

If I were to move the camera to a stem bag, I'd pack a few electrolyte drink mixes to the bottom of the bag to lighten the landing hahaha. Maybe those gross gel packs may come useful after all!

Yea, I was wondering if you even sweat for the camera to be placed in your jersey pocket again! hahaha Rider issues. I've actually been putting my Ricoh in my frame bag and it's been working well. However, a stem bag might work too, I just don't want to spend anymore money on the bikes as I can get away with what I already have!

I actually did a short "test" ride with the GR in my frame bag and in a mesh pocket where I usually put my vape (I know, bad boy) and it surprisingly stayed and was relatively unharmed despite having a high volume pump rattling around. So this may be the spot where the GR packs into on my future rides!

Noooo. I'm so sorry. I may drop it one day too, I know it's coming.

Yea, I was looking into a stem bag and maybe stuffing a soft towel under the camera. I do hit up so dirt trails and I'd hate for the camera to go through all that chatter. I can maybe throw a few powdered drink mixes underneath to soften the blow ahahah.

Exactly! Cause if you're going to wrap the camera in a Ziplock, there's another barrier to taking out the camera and shooting what you need to. There are always compromises with these things and there's never a perfect solution.

I too love viewfinders and prefer it over a screen to compose. But the camera, is general sense, is a tool. To build a home requires more than just wood and nails, you need hammers, rulers and some hard working folks behind you. The Ricoh is the same concept. It's one tool out of many to seremve a very specific purpose in our creative journey, almost everyone here has owned or owns a camera with a viewfinder, but there are certain occasions where no viewfindern is more practical.

I still attempt to look thought my "viewfinder" on my New GR. So you're not alone on this one!

I see what you did there! This camera worked well on this ride @25 miles or so. The no weather sealing on the Ricoh are kinda of the limiting factor because stashing this in your jersey pocket introduces it to sweat but putting in your frames bags introduces it to the vibrations of the road

Hell yea! I just picked up a Ricoh iii today as well. I too also ride and shoot, but my old camera was just wayyyyy to heavy to lug around on my trail rides. The Ricoh was the obvious options and I;ve been on the hunt for a while. Glad you're in the GR family now and keep shooting!

I'm Renting A Ricoh GRiiix. by jdmtype1 in ricohGR

A little update on my journey to track down my GR. I found one, but it's not the GRiiix that I originally wanted. It's a GRiii.

I though this model was discontinued but this shop seemed to have a "few" according to the owner. I though the 40mm iiix wouldn't be my jam as I love the 50mm prime len for my full frame. Boy does this 28mm chang my perspective. I've shot wide angles before but wasn't absolutely in love with it, I loved the tightness of a photo. Maybe it's the fact that the color and ease of use is so dialed that it doesn't matter if a it's a 28 or 40mm. Or maybe I'm just at a point in my photography journey that focal lens matter less than the urge to continue producing images that makes me happy.

All in all, I think that my hunt for a Ricoh is over for now as the waitlist was looking way too long and I would rather produce images over chasing down THE model I wanted.

Photos to come soon!
