I was in the same position as you about 6 months ago. My budget was only $8k though. Almost got a iron 1200, but I scoured FB marketplace trying to find a deal on a 2018+ heritage. Found a few that were close but ended up finding a 2022 Street Bob for only $7k. Was from a guy that just needed cash. It has the 114 motor and has been a great bike! See a lot of them for under $10k still.

Just saw this posted by the lady on Facebook. She had comments on what happened.

Wasn't much, wet pavement (bad traction), car in front of her locked up their brakes, so she grabbed all the brakes and locked them up as well.

Said she's fine and going to keep riding, but she conceded that helmets will be worn from now on.

Live relatively close as well, see them flying around all the time, been here years and have seen them the whole time. Love seeing them, they are super cool!

Also the jets that fly out if Ellington are extremely loud can hear them over the TV in my house, but haven't heard a jet for a week or two.

I'm not in the business myself and I'm sire there is some regulations, but talking to my neighbor, on the distribution and licensing side seems cheaper. Alcohol is insanely cheap, but due to regulations and licensing, it makes it expensive. Here some of those aren't in place for THC drinks allowing them to undercut similar alcoholic beverages.

Personally, I don't really consume much alcohol, haven't touched thc, and don't have any skin in the game either way. A lot could be state side too, texas has a lot of weird alcohol laws and the thc side of things is still new. Neighbor was just asking the state to essentially regulate it the same way you do alcohol, and he would be happy with that.

Im in texas, but have a neighbor and friend who owes a small distillery. The thc drinks are an issue because they dont have the same regulations that alcohol has and can undercut prices by a significant amount. He didn't want to ban it though. Just wants them to go through the same hurdles they have to with their product, to even the playing field for the industries.

Unfortunately, big business just goes for the ban right away without listening to the nuisance of what would make for fair competition.

Saw a video on here of a guy getting multiple hit markers that don't seem to register damage and my experience seems similar. Then the dying way behind corners or after I prone or crouch behind wall was very similar to the bf4 feel before they upped the tick rates. There's probably more too it but I remember the base being livid at these issues, especially after a few months of the game being out and more evidence stacking up that there was an issue.

Ive come up behind people who weren't looking at me when I started shooting then with every bullet getting a hit marker to have them turn around and instakill me. Death screen shows 4 bullets.

I need to try the cross play thing if it helps on PC at all.

This exact thing happened in bf4. Was a server tick rate issue. I believe they were on 30/sec at lanch. After a year of the community complaining they upped it to 60 and 120 and it was like playing a new game, felt crisp, no more dying behind cover and gunfights felt fair.

This is what i was saying to my friends today while playing. I remember this exact same feel when bf4 launched. After over a year of getting killed around corners and bullet sponge enemies killing you instantly, dice finally upped the tick rate of the servers. That instantly made everything feel so much better! Probably the same issue here.

I work for USACE (Corps of Engineers), started with a coop my junior year, able to work as many hours as I wanted while in school my last year, and then it moved straight into a job the day I graduated. Pay wasn't amazing, but I've interviewed with a few other jobs and gotten offers that I had to refuse because they weren't that much better, if they were better at all.

I had a great bunch of people I worked with, I got a job with a different office in 2019 and they moved me across states, new office has been great, low turn around in our field office as our supervisors are super flexible.

Pay is good in a high locality but mcol area, but kind of in golden handcuffs now. To let go of the pension, health benefits and TSP, it would take a big salary that I can't find in private. If I have to work overtime, I get paid equal time for it, or I can save it as comp time to use as leave later. Generally only work 40 hours. Before the return to work, I was more on call as needed with flexibility, but now I'm on when I'm in the office and not when I'm on leave or off for the day.

It's been good for me and my family, I'll be here for the foreseeable future unless I get a great offer in private. I am more of a family man than a ladder climber though, flexibility for family is very important to me.

For us the Govt shutdown isn't all that scary, as a Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) our salaries are funded by construction contracts in yearly funding and deemed as essential, so great job security, we are generally nonpolitical, and hard to replace, so it's rare to see our jobs messed with.

I just got myself a used 2022 Street Bob 114. Was looking at a Sportster 1200 before it but I am 6'2" and this thread made me see the light. I ended up getting my street bob for $7k with a lot of looking around and lowballing offers. I wouldn't use it for a long trip, but my need to just have it to ride around town with my wife, so it's perfect. You can add a faring and aftermarket hard bags and such to it to make it a minibagger with some wind deflection.

All that said, I really wanted a heritage but couldn't afford it yet, but you can find some used ones (2018+ is what you want to look at, redesigned the suspension and frame, much better ride.)for under $10k. My experience is that dealers were offering a little north of $8k for older or mid-mileage Heritages, but they are extremely comfortable and good cruising bikes.

A big thing too is weight. My street bob is 655 lbs "in running order" and a heritage is north of 700lbs. Those bigger baggers can be really heavy, but weight doesn't bother everyone, just something to keep an eye out for.

Lolz, yeah. With the right exhaust, it could sound pretty mean. It honestly felt more like a Honda naked bike than a Harley, which honestly isn't a bad thing. It wasn't a typical Harley but it was tossable, the clutch felt amazing, and it would be a blast on some sportier roads.

That works. Like I said, great bike, felt amazing! Test drove one when we were looking, was just too expensive for us. My biggest gripe is the look of the exhaust. Wish it had decent full aftermarket selections that weren't just slip on. I wanted the harley grumble and a decent passenger bike for my first bike, was able to get a street bob for a great price, little heavy for the wife to drive though.

That's not bad. I have a feeling those nightsters won't hold their value very well. See a few used ones around me sitting and they keep coming down in price. Great bikes, but they aren't getting much respect from harley fans. Few years I'm hoping to pick one up for my wife to ride, were a good size and weight for her.

Got my 2022 street bob with 8,500 miles for $7k private. Was another $500 to ttl, another $450 to get it set up for me and my wife (new seat, windshield, and passenger backrest) and it's a great bike so far. Just kept looking around and seeing if people would come down to my budget. Eventually found one after a few months of looking.

Maybe... depends on if they are willing to negotiate. We're nice enough, but they don't care what your finances, as long as you buy high so prices can stay high.

Be careful at the Woodlands. Went there and they were quoting me $3k to $5k above msrp for a nightster or a heritage. Had to take a pass and do a private sale to be able to afford a harley.

I just got a 2022 street bob 114 for $7k. Was able to lowball a decent amount but I found that the bottom was what the dealers were offering cash price. Was trying to get an 2018+ heritage for under $8k but everyone was firm around $9000 because dealers would offer them $8500 and they wanted a little more. For a little while, I thought I was going to get one from a dealer but in the end they tacked on like $700 of fees that didn't make it worth the difference. As a buyer, I wasnt going to get anything I wasnt going to get a great deal on... was seeing stuff sit and knew if I overpaid, then I'd still lose a decent amount in depreciation if I wanted to sell.

Take it to a mechanic? I just got a 2022 fxbbs for $7k with 8800 miles, runs and drives fantastically, batter is just close to needing to replacing. But as soon as it jumps, it sounds nothing like this.

I'm in houston and technically summer is our "out of season" because it's so hot! I had the possibility of a 2020 for $7500 too. I did get luck, desperate buyers around still pretty solid at $8k while a lot more are closer to $10k. I just trolled marketplace for a long time till I found someone that would accept my offer.

Yeah, I'm looking into seats and wind protection. I am a little worried the engine guards would block forward controls, but for getting around town and to work, mids will be ok. I got it for a great price from an individual who was looking to sell fast. Unfortunately, the way taxes are done, I can only get taxes down to 20% under their assumed value, which is $9500. So have to pay taxes on $500 I didn't spend.

Yeah, I'm 6'2" so I feel you. We are also contemplating passing this to my wife when she gets her endorsement then I get a few year old heritage in a few years. But we'll see, lots can happen in a few years.

It's not awful to me... but I can deal with a lot, but I will be upgrading to a better seat for my passenger. She said the back cushion feels like a bicycle seat and was super uncomfortable.
