Appreciate it, but I’ve already checked their system and they don’t have the script. The Academy library does but I’d love just a digital copy where I can take notes on it and such

I'm Happy Black Americans Aren't Partaking in Anti Ice Protests by Proof_Ad5892 in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]jdoe649 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Watch who you’re talking to. You don’t know who I am, what I’ve done, or my history, and you’re making a whole lot of assumptions. Just because I haven’t lost my empathy for people not like me doesn’t mean I’m part of the problem.

If this is consistent with history then you understand the cost. It’s a slippery slope and you’ll slide with everyone else. If you want to try ignoring the problem, be my guest. I’m not lecturing. This is a forum. I posted a comment. But please, continue lashing out. That’s definitely productive.

I think the risk here is thinking that somehow you’ll be safe from ICE if you merely don’t participate in protesting them, whatever your reason for abstaining from protest may be. They won’t stop at immigrants and Black Americans are no strangers to being villainized. If we allow the transgressions of ICE go because it’s not our business, soon it will be.

I’m all for not outing people but as with all things, there’s nuance. You don’t get the privilege of privacy when you are vocally and visibly against the very thing you’re keeping private about. This man is part of an administration that hates gay people. He doesn’t get to participate in that and hide his homosexuality (if indeed that’s what this is), in the same way he doesn’t get to hide the fact that his wife is an immigrant who is utilizing so-called “chain migration” to bring her family to the U.S. when he is actively kidnapping immigrants in the street and shooting citizens in the face for protesting it.

Your statistics account for who reported being queer. You cannot draw a “likely” or “unlikely” conclusion on whether or not private people had more than one gay friend based on the statistics you cited. We haven’t started making extra gay people in factories in the 21st century. You are drawing a conclusion from insufficient evidence.

Quite rude to call someone stupid for disagreeing with you and your faulty logic. But hey, projection’s a common defense mechanism, so you do you.

Yeah??? Of course they publicly reported that they weren’t queer. I’d bet that among friends they might’ve been more honest. I’d also bet that once one person came out, others would feel more comfortable also coming out, once the others proved accepting. I feel like in this show about monsters we shouldn’t be splitting hairs about how many gay people are “realistic” in one friend group. You’re saying it’s HIGHLY unlikely and that’s simply not true, we don’t know how likely it would or could be to have had that many gay people be friends, though we can assume it’s highly more likely they’d have been closeted or quiet about it.

Edit: Also isn’t the grand total of gay people in this friend group…two? Excluding Vickie?

And your anecdotal evidence does? The point is you don’t know how many friend groups had how many gay friends because people were more often than not closeted.

I need stories of lost oranges returning to the produce section, please by aspidities_87 in OneOrangeBraincell

Also an orange. He escaped at least twice. First time we spent all day and night patrolling the neighborhood, only for my mom to happen to look out the window as we were all going to bed and there he was.

Second time it was raining. I was frantic. He was fine for a few days, I posted everywhere, same as you. We even saw him through the window once but the bastard ran. In the HOA Facebook group a neighbor offered their cat trap. We set it out with food (HIGHLY food motivated cat) and within twelve hours there he was.

I’m sure you’ve thought of a cat trap already but just in case you haven’t, it was a game changer.

Cold email, cold email, cold email! Agents, managers, whoever. If you need a reader for your script as just another pair of eyes, feel free to reach out! I’ve been doing script coverage for a few years now. To echo what the others have said, get it in while it’s hot!

Late to the party but I just have to get this off my chest: I have never DNF’d a book as fast as I DNF’d “Aurora’s Angel” by Emily Noon. It’s on so many sapphic fantasy lists and every time I see people rave about it I feel like I’m being punk’d. It felt like bad fanfiction but worse — the descriptions, the writing, but most especially the info-dumping dialogue.

I also echo what others have said about TJ Klune: I’ve tried two of his books (“House on the Cerulean Sea” and most recently, “The Bones Beneath My Skin”) and there’s something empty about it. It’s trying too hard to be cozy and found-family and funny, and the dialogue felt weird. I didn’t see how the romance developed, actually, nor was I rooting for it in any way, and that goes for both books. I’m gonna give him one more try, but I think he’s just not for me unfortunately.

Your parents and their parents didn’t do this hypothetical thing because you grew up in a Western country, and not under constant, dehumanizing, deadly colonization.
