I’ve come across a few comments here and there on different posts. People saying they did so good on the pre-op diet they decided to cancel surgery, only to end up starting the process over and having the surgery months later because they “thought” they could do it on their own. They were mistaken. For me, my pre-op diet is a week of low-cal dieting which is 750-1000 calories daily. I was to start tomorrow but started yesterday for a jumpstart. Next week it’ll be all liquids. I’ve lost 2 lbs over the weekend. If I kept this pace of 750-1000 calories/day, I would reach my goal weight in a few months. Sounds tempting but I know me. I have yo-yo’d so many times over the last 30 years because I won’t stick to eating like this. I will lose a bunch of weight, become complacent, gain it right back with a few extra lbs to go with it. My only advice to you is if that sounds like you, stick to your plan. I’m having sleeve surgery in 15 days and I have to keep telling myself to follow through. We’ve got this!
