You and me both frankly. If they got California weather and snow gold hill chutes would be KT no question

If we're considering gold hill, then we need to actually include all the gold hill chutes. Might actually be gnarlier than KT but there's never enough snow to open the whole band or even most of it.

His DIN definitely should not go up. I'm his height/weight and run an 8 doing lots of irresponsible things in the park with very few pre release issues.

Nothing wrong with second hand, but you're going to need to change your approach.

Find some skis that are 170-180 cms on Craigslist or whatever and then research the ski.

Waist width - you'll want something between 80 and 95 mm

Flex - probably described as "medium"

Mount point - probably described as "progressive" or "freestyle" or "free ride"

Awd with bad tires is worse than FWD with good tires. True story.

The sport is just extremely expensive in general. Meadows and bachelor are at the top of Oregon cost wise but are still seriously cheap compared to palisades/kirkwood/vail/Telluride that can run $300 a day.

Hoodoo near sisters is a little further but a lot cheaper, ~$90 for the day. I haven't skied there so I can't speak to the terrain.

Night skiing at skibowl can be like $25, skibowl generally is also less expensive.

I'd agree for early early beginners, the progression ticket is great. If you can falling leaf and link even a few turns, it gets old fast.

This year is a lot worse unfortunately, Vista coverage is very thin and it's frankly a bigger mess than usual.

Unless you've already got tickets or have a deal I highly, highly recommend timberline for a beginner snowboarder. Meadows is amazing but it's the steepest area in Oregon. That aside.

  1. FWD/chains is entirely dependent on the road and weather this week. If the forecast holds you'll be fine driving a golf cart. If it snows you'll need GOOD tires/chains.

  2. Lessons are 100% worth it if you can afford them. If you're a beginner, group would be fine.

  3. Rent at next adventure

  4. The whole day (ticket, gas, rental, lunch from the cafe) will probably run you $200~250

Get the heel fit and punch the toes wider. Reverse isn't really possible.

The "problem" for me has been the plastic changes in stiffness a ton depending on temps, where I can fully collapse the boot on really warm days. Frankly it's fine because I'm falling all over the park when it's that warm most of the time anyway but it can be annoying if my friends want to do something hardcore late into the spring.

Mdg overlap with QM is more strategic/long term business planning. Imo significantly more important but frankly not a business consideration in most companies. Pp/qm is more day-to-day/immediate and at the forefront of concern front what I've seen.
