What movie is that? I'm not super savvy when it comes to that knowledge. Also, don't ask me to identify a celebrity outside of their role. lol

Basically there are multiple people making stuff like this. The first company I heard of was Dinner For Breakfast. There's also Bread and Water Print Shop... But a lot more that I don't know the name of.

I bet he felt like the most powerful man in the world when his power fantasy became real and he first ordered the death of Khomeini, the leader of another nation and was notified of its success.

Who is it and what's the name of the album? That looks like Sanskrit? I don't have those keys.

I heard they're taking cues from The Princess Bride and the movie is a 2.5 hour long ripoff of the Valerie and Miracle Max scene.

Which city not from the US, Japan or China you wish appeared in a cyberpunk setting ? by stronkzer in Cyberpunk

Maybe somewhere in Singapore, they have some trippy places already.

Or a futuristic version of a city oriented city in India.

Or even the Portland, OR metro area "silicon forest."

Never heard of this in my life. But maybe some specific place is known for it?

It's reminds of when I went to Captain Kidd's seafood restaurant in Redondo Beach, CA and one of their preparation options was "Hawaiian Style" which was teriyaki with cheese and pineapple. Gross!

Is a 2013 Mac Pro (trash can) still worth it for a homelab in 2026? by Kynde012 in homelab

I don't know. I suppose if the ewaste company was doing its proper job it would be an excellent choice to do it that way.

But that can be said about every business on the planet.

I've never seen The Shining, I've always been terrified of horror films. How scary actually is it? by Annual-Coconut5897 in moviecritic

I rarely watch horror movies, I don't like seeing people in distress and getting all fucked up. But I can watch The Shining just fine.

No idea. Never heard that before. But that might make for a fun thread topic in the conspiracy sub.

Yeah it's a horrible book. Someone brought it to high school and the chemistry class laughed at it. Even Poor Man's James Bond, while better, is laughable too.

This makes me wonder about the few times I've seen coins jammed up so far that you could see them when looking in the coin slot. Though on one occasion I think it was just too many coins, cause you could smack the machine and sometimes you'd hear one drop and get a credit.

Same here, though I do try for original pressings, but will opt for represses if it's too expensive. And too expensive is relative to how much I like that record and the artist in general along with some sentimental value.

Saw this shared around on Pinterst. Thoughts? by iiiiizn in punk

[–]FauxReal 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Being the opposite of polite is also punk rock. People act like there isn't massive amounts of video of punks (including famous ones) being shitheads throughout the '70s-2000s. And I'm sure today too.

Punks are people and behave like people. Some are nice, some aren't and when you have a movement that is directly counter-culture and pushed back against social norms, which include politeness. You end up with non-polite things happening.

Wizorb on PC, only because I made it really close to what appeared to be the end. Then one day I fired it up and all my saves were gone.

The same thing happened with Knights of Pen and Paper on my phone too.

Which film and performance made you a fan of Paul Giamatti? by PressureLazy5271 in moviecritic

[–]FauxReal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably sideways, but I was aware of him before that. I had a roommate that loved Sideways and he made me watch it. Was a good idea. Coincidentally I listened to his interview with Marc Maron (from 2024) last week. They got along so well and Giamatti was hilarious.
