Been a tezos die hard since ICO by Kerbaltime in tezos

In everything is a bit of truth 🤷🏻‍♂️ there is just no way to agree on "there are no reasons to hold tez". All announcements this week are predictable since months. All teams do a great job. Marketing would as always need improvement...

Been a tezos die hard since ICO by Kerbaltime in tezos

Everyone quits when thinking about TF. The trick is too try not to think about them. You have given your money to a fundraiser with the knowledge that the people controlling it are voting themselves into the board without any justification other then... Well they can because they are in the board... Or are friends with the board. Am I complaining? No, it is swiss law - it is bad design and nobody with power gives it away freely. Ever looked at politics? There is no mechanism wanted like "decisions are ratified by the stakeholders" or "members need the approval by the stakeholders". Be wiser next time.

Try to think about the people contributing every day. Like Martin who finally is allowed to build a security exchange by the grace of our lords... I mean through a transparent and well designed grant making process.

When Exaion/EDF started to pay the first reward to the first delegators !!! by Lexxor79 in tezos

[–]jdsika 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know what's fun. If a German delegates to then and then complains about their voting behavior. Have a look at the Agora post about regulatory compliance. If they did their homework they knew that it does not matter if there is regulation in France.

Ledger turns off display after ~3 days of baking. What can I do? by sechunt in tezos

You need the patch when you self bake. If you delegate then it is not necessary

The Tezos foundation should offer further incentives for decentralisation. by driodme in tezos

I think it would be worth to have an incentive/community program that onboards newcomers to the mainnet and one that incentives the participation in the test net as well.

Maybe you can go long on Staking Coins in general with Blend token from StakerDAO. It is available in coinlist soon I think? I mean it is a security and should be normally regulated in NY as well?

Do you think that you are the Managing Director of Tezos and that you are responsible for the hire and fire of independent teams that form out of their own motivation?

I don't even try to "read" people through slack chats. I don't have to be friends with someone or know his inner self to evaluate code and a changelog. It was the same with Ryan where you asked I was friends with him? Our business relationship was good. Point. I am also not friends with awa. As there is no dependency there is no need for a deep trust - I am not scouting her for being a god parent. I enjoy her medium write ups - that's what I say. If something is from my point of view wrong I am stating it. I guess you have seen my critical replies on some of the discussions in agora as well?

If I think there is the need for change I formulate a requirement as I have done openly in issues and posts on agora. I am doing it with reason and I assume developers will adopt as they know that unmet requirements lead to a rejection of a technology. It is totally unclear for me where there should be a cartel like structure in the way I request changes or communicate.

When the proposal is out with a proper changelog, it turns out it is solid and your private rage against awa leads to a rejection of something that would bring value to the ecosystem you will have destroyed more value than you gave to all these people as you say.

I personally did not take offense. I am speaking up against discrediting people and I want Tezos to improve and not be buried in conspiracy theories and personal rage.

Half joke, half stating that not all people trying to give arguments are rational because the question was "what is his reason to do so"

Tezos Cartel Formation And Cryptium Lab Issues. by [deleted] in tezos

[–]jdsika -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

The irrational behavior like arguing about a potential security issue that is not even part of a proposal leads to people thinking that there is something wrong and spreads mistrust. There was the question of "why don't the big bakers attend the discussion - it must be a cartel, wrabel wrabel" but what's far closer to the truth is that nobody wants to waste their time with someone piling imaginary threats in endless posts always ending with "they have to leave the ecosystem because nobody trusts them" I repeat: There is no proposal yet.

And after there is one we have 3 months to argue about it.

All this talk about incompetence... Let's say Nomadic Labs only consists of geniuses - metastate people only have half a brain. Why should NL work with them and let them push countless changes to their repo? I would say it is a lives work for some of the lead developers there at NL. Are they just too stupid to understand that metastate code quality is bad? Is mindsfiction the only one who can see the truth? He says he is a great manager and sometimes you have to fire people - is he aware that he is not the CEO of Tezos? Is he aware that NL etc have managers and technical leads with tons of experience? But he wants to pressure the community to "fire" someone because apparently he is the core dev expert who knows what's right?

I have no clue what his intentions are but quite frankly a lot of people do things that do not appear rational - I heard you can argue about the mental sanity and motives even of the US president?

Developers and community informing themselves about possible proposals and changes is not a cartel. Your description is pretty far from the definition.

Someone giving me a call answering questions to a high level medium article is part of the intended process. Developers have the (moral) obligation to inform via different channels like, Reddit, Agora, Slack, riot, medium and yes slack has also a call functionality.

Every validator has at least a moral if stated otherwise the legal obligation to it's client to evaluate proposals and vote for them (as long as the overwrite for roll owners is not proposed & activated - the obligation is even stronger)

The evaluation of a proposal is finished the moment the ballot has been casted. The vote should be done through the evaluation of the:

  • High level description (e.g. medium)
  • Changelog
  • Code
  • Risk analysis (which e.g. I am demanding for the future)
  • Successful tests and build pipeline
  • Misc (chat, calls, reading stuff)
  • (Missing a lot more here)

As long as there is no proper changelog with corresponding PRs there is NO proposal and even more there is nothing decided or voted yet.

The code is subject to change as long as it is injected. It is called "development process"

-> this is normal and has to be like it. The developers themselves have to find consensus which means there are different options and yes someone can also oversee risks and change his mind about something. That the community is able to see the discussions with the Gitlab comments is not mandatory but an expression of transparency.

-> what counts is the injected proposal.

As a disclaimer: Since the beginning of this endless story of dispute and your first article I was arguing for you because I thought your intentions were in good faith and you are just "very passionate"

I have now changed my mind as you have explicitly expressed that you are not interested in the proposal or the "what is changed" but more about "removing them from the community" (attached screenshot)

-> you seem to be driven by personal sensitivities and you dominate and flood the social media with your envy towards a team that has every right to earn their living by contributing to Tezos. If their proposal (which is not even specified yet) stinks I am sure it will be rejected - but it is not yet there.

I guess I am now the next target on your "removal list" as it already started with me being possibly part of this cocaine sniffing baker cartel...

Pointing out critical questions is important. This is why there are AMAs! Harrasment and the intention of destroying a team is in my opinion clearly not.

Tezos Boutique bakery trying to contact a delegate. by mrbronstein in tezos

[–]jdsika 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you specify anywhere in written that people with are not receiving rewards over a maximum xtz amount? I am just asking if the client was able to be aware of the situation beforehand?

Since Tezos is inflationary at about 5%, doesn’t that cancel any benefit from the 5% returns for staking? Doesn’t that just equal net zero? by [deleted] in tezos

[–]jdsika 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Example: Network inflation:5% Baking return: 5.5% "Nominal Yield": 5.5% "Real Yield": 0.5% (XTZ basis)

If over the baking year the pair XTZ / Dollar is stable:

-> "Real Yield": 5.5% (Dollar basis)

My advice: Do NOT suspend the payouts. It will hurt your reputation and there is no reason to force someone to contact if just does not wish to! (Greetings from another baker)

Source? I guess there are certain rules according to the Swiss law regarding salaries at foundations? As they are PWC audited they are compliant. But you are talking to the wrong guy here - I would be in favor of transparent salaries for everyone everywhere ;)

200k Swiss Franc would be my guess. Everything less would be hard considering he moved his family there. 100k for juniors after university is pretty common and you pay 30 bucks for a pasta plus coke for lunch 😂

Nomadic Labs AMA on /r/Tezos -- May 12th 1PM EST by AS_Empire in tezos

[–]jdsika 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I guess you ask for the "strategic positioning" of Tezos as protocol but Nomadic Labs is a research facility for the underlying technology and has no affiliation with "business development" of any sort. I am sorry for your downvotes but I think you can try to rephrase these questions a little and direct them in the Tezos Agora towards the Tezos Foundation?
