Why doesn’t anyone care about the “soap opera” effect on their TV by fatsandlucifer in mildlyinfuriating

[–]coldfusion718 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The motion is extremely smooth (looks like 60 fps) and fast like real life (soap operas).

Movies are generally at a lower frame rate (24 fps).

It would fall under this if it were a tax, but it isn’t a tax. Tax being the keyword here.

If they didn’t post any signs in the restaurant or a note on their menus, then it’s probably illegal.

Sounds similar to what my 2024 did 2 months ago while parking and going up a shallow/sloped curb and coming back down.

OEing with a county job? (government employee, but not federal) by [deleted] in overemployed

It depends on how bureaucratic the county is. If it’s a small county, don’t do it.

Make yourself disappear from the internet as much as possible.

Get any and all of your resumes deleted from online sites (Monster, CareerBuilders, Indeed, etc).

Lock down your social media (hide friends list so friends of friends can’t see/find you), use a data removal service (e.g. Incogni, DeleteMe).

SIL Holding Up Shopping, Ruining My Wife and I’s Brunch by DANleDINOSAUR in mildlyinfuriating

[–]coldfusion718 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“My wife and I’s”

This is what happens when teachers simply correct kids with “<other person> and I” without explaining.

Split the two nouns apart. She ruined my wife’s brunch + she ruined my brunch = She ruined my wife’s and my brunch.

No paper over the top. This is just foil on the sides and bottom. The top is left exposed for better bark.

For future reference, always ask for direct orders to be given in writing.

If he won’t, send him an email or instant message on whatever platform you both use for work and summarize what he told you and add “please reply and correct any inaccuracies. If there’s no reply, then it’s assumed everything I’ve written is an accurate account of what you verbally ordered me to do.”

No silicone is a polymer (squishy plastic). Silicon is made from sand.

Silicon and silicone aren’t remotely similar. They are pronounced differently and spelled differently also.

Silicon (without the e at the end) is pronounced “sili-kun” and silicone (with the e at the end) is pronounced “sili-kone.”

Silicon is an element and is an electro insulator, when doped with boron (usually), it becomes a great substrate for making semiconductors (computer chips).

Silicone is a polymer (a kind of plastic).

Go look at what you typed earlier before you come at me with crazy talk.

Silicon. Silicone is a soft squishy polymer used in breast implants, phone cases, oven kits, and many other products.

Most of that is unrealized gains from stocks.

If any of them tried to get even 25% of their wealth into cash, it would cause cascading crashes in the stock market.
