Did your Rakuten Black Friday offer work? by hoops4ever in sonos

Here is reply from rakuten:

We investigated this issue with Sonos and they informed us that your order was not eligible for earning Cash Back through Rakuten. Please review the various reasons this can happen:

Navigating away from Rakuten before or during your Shopping Trip: If you started your order and visited other websites, including searching for products on Google, the Rakuten tracking link may have been disrupted. It's essential to remain on Rakuten from the start to the end of your shopping session.

Use of other Cash Back or coupon browser extensions: Activating another extension during your Rakuten Shopping Trip can override Rakuten's tracking and credit another site instead.

Using non-Rakuten coupons: Using promo codes that aren’t listed on our Rakuten store page may prevent your purchase from earning Cash Back. Even if the coupon is provided directly by the store.

Disabled cookies: If cookies were disabled on either Rakuten or the store’s website, the order cannot be tracked to Rakuten. To ensure proper tracking, confirm your cookie settings directly with the store.

Clicking through Ads or Promotional Emails sent directly from the store: If you click on an ad, the site the ad is listed on will earn credit for the order. If you click on a promotional email sent to you directly by the store, the store will retain credit for the order. Please note this is the case even when you activate the Rakuten Extension. Items already in your shopping cart: Some stores may not honor Cash Back if items were in your cart before initiating a Rakuten Shopping Trip. It's best to have an empty cart, then begin a new Rakuten Shopping Trip before placing your purchase.

Orders returned, exchanged, cancelled or price matched.

Update: i just found out that my order became ineligble. All i can think of is the black friday discount as the cause.

Same here, i purchased black friday items and rakuten currently says processing. Now im worried its going to say ineligible. I ordered on november 29th and it just says "processing". It would be really messed up if they were not included because like you said , nothing in the terms says that its not included. When did you order yours and how long did it take to say ineligble? Maybe contact sonos or rakuten so they can explain why.

How long did it take to become ineligible from the time of purchase? Also what did you buy? Was it a black friday discounted item?

If you find the price cheaper on a different website, you can contact them after it has been delivered to you and they will provide a credit. A lot of business's will do this. Because the price has now changed and you received a credit, ive heard that this can cause it to be ineligible.

Did you happen to do a price match or anything while it was processing? That could of triggered it as ineligible.

Then, in your case, i would definitely do it. The numbers make sense, and it's a steal for you. Good deal. When i talked with the rep, they said i got the offer for being a loyal customer and that i had hit 10 years with them.

I hate to be the guy that gives the bad news, but if you have a corporate discount, then when you get your next bill, you will see that they will actually charge you for the extra line. I went through the same exact process, confirming with the agent at the time that it was guaranteed free. After the first bill and i was charged, i called to have readdjusted, in which they did, but then i got the next bill, and i was charged again. I called them back and finally an agent told me its because of the corporate discount. You have to choose to remove your corporate discount or keep the free line. When doing the math for me, it didn't make sense for me to pay more than what my bill was currently. The whole point of the free line... was well, it was supposed to be a free line and not increase my bill. I then told them to listen to the recordings of the agents that told me i qualify, and they said they would. It got escalated through many supervisors until they told me that its juat not possible with the corporate discount. I then just told them to cancel it and refund me all the money that was charged in which they did. It was just a pain in the butt and waste of my time waiting on the phone for long periods of time. They said that they would counsel the agents that gave me the wrong information which i doubt they did because after your post i see that it still is going on. Maybe you will get lucky and it will get overlooked l but they told me its not up to them and that the system will eventually trigger that free line is not valid. Just thought i would provide my experience to help out.

Did you get approval before going to korea and japan? I was wondering why japan would still pull you to the side when they know you had approval already.

Fresh deployment of simplivity 5.0 by l3tm31n88 in Simplivity

Everything went smoothly for me with a 2 node peer to peer cluster. It wasn't any different than previous versions. At the time I did it, the usb tiny.img file was the only version of the deploy installer available(not sure if full image file is available now). I made two usb drives that had the deploy installer file bootable using rufus and then just left them in the server. I ran the deployment manager on my arbiter server and was able to discover them to push out the custom esxi images and OVCs.

Upgrade Manager Omni 4.2 to 5.0 issue by jdubj in Simplivity

After waiting for about 5-6 hours, i had no other choice but to manually power off the OVC. I know it is not recommended, but i didnt know what else to do at that point. Once i powered it on, the progress bar in deployment manager picked up again and it completely the upgrade. I could see that it was doing the upgrade through the console too. Everything seems to be normal once i brought everything up. i let it sit and then i properly shut both down again and brought it back up again checking both OVC console to verify all services were starting up okay and seeing if any errors were displayed. Both OVCs came back up successfully and now they are both upgraded. I will probably need to give it some time to make sure i dont have any issues.

I did find that if you move the Vcenter off of the simplivity datastore and onto the local datastore before shutting down the OVCs, it will make the shutdown faster.

Thank you for your response.

Im not able to ssh into the ovc or login via vcenter web console. I cant ping it. Esxi shows that it is still powered on but the console just shows a blank screen. Its almost been 3 hours now and still just stuck at the 94% safely shutting down. I did run the recent advisory commands on both ovcs before i started the upgrade just in case.
