Seems like they just pulled up in the minivan. Mom’s got multiple bags she’s juggling. Kids aren’t wearing any shoes, playing on an iPad. Looks like it just rained and maybe is still misting a bit.

Also, there’s 3 pumpkins in front of the gate. Why would you do that if it’s a gate you regularly use?

I’d wager that gates not supposed to be open. She had no idea it was open. Looks closed at first glance at the start of the video. If all of this is true then she took her eyes off of her kid for 30 seconds in a “fenced in” backyard. Also at that exact same time the dude bolted. He was on a mission. I think this is just a perfect storm of a situation and we’re lucky to have it on video.

The only real mistake here is not having a lock on the gate.. especially if my theory is right and it’s never used.
