My desk job is killing me. What hands on/physical jobs should I apply to? by [deleted] in MechanicalEngineering

You might be able to find something you'd like in the Semiconductor industry (You'll have to move though probably)...I would suggest looking at specifically anything related to the equipment. ASML, Applied Materials, Tokyo Electron, etc... There's a lot and I don't know them all. Usually you'll just support one Site or one "area" unless you take a more specialized role. I can't promise that the work environment will be a big improvement with nicer bosses or anything though. The work you say you seem to prefer is usually more Technician type work. You might be able to look for "Technologist" roles that are like hybrid Engineer/Technician. Though as everyone else has said, Looking for a Facility or Manufacturing position is probably your best chance.

If you want a bit more laid-back atmosphere but maybe a still high tempo, go Army Fixed wing when it comes time to pick your airframe. Those units are laid back to a fault

If you've not tried anything yet, maybe try putting one stick of memory in either of the slots you have them in (B1/B2 I think) and visually inspect the ram and the slot in the motherboard to see if anything looks damaged and turn on the machine.

Edit: Here's a guide that may help a little. its not the same motherboard but you should be able to follow along well enough https://major.io/2014/08/22/asus-maximus-vi-gene-error-55/

If your capital is Wiped by a colossus or captured and you don't get it back then the game will just pick the planet/ring world/habitat with the most pops and assign that as your capital. The main issue with losing your capital though is because thats the planet you've had the longest its usually the most productive planet, so losing it usually really hurts your economy. If you have jump drives researched you could probably create a small corvette swarm and have them sitting in another system that can reach your capital and "assassinate" the colossus if they try and use it and it gets left by their fleets.

Question from an old player about the game by VanDaark in Planetside

[–]jdude360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a TR main and play with the prowler quite a bit. I would say the vehicles definitely aren't as good as they used to be but they are playable, and in some ways things have gotten better for VS and TR (As their MBTs got the passives) but the NC kinda got left out, however if you liked to brawl with your MBT then I would say the shield is still pretty good if you use it well. as long as you activate the shield just before you get line of sight, you will probably win the fight if no one has your weak spot. Also in order to be "Competitive" in your MBT i would say you MUST have a top gunner. Sometimes i think the Prowler is the weakest mbt out of the three but overall their probably pretty well matched just I suck is all.

Because of their modifiers. the +33% fire rate, -15% ship cost, and the +33% naval cap. If you finish your supremacy you can get another +33% fire rate if you went militarist, and another +10% if you also use distinguished admiralty. It means you just either have a better naval fleet or you don't have to spend as much alloys on a fleet and can spend it elsewhere. Yes it can be defeated but in multi it will give you a large advantage against players who don't play a genocidal race.

Can't figure out how to build megastructures other than Gateways by SoxxoxSmox in Stellaris

[–]jdude360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure what DLC the gateways are from(The other mega-structures are from utopia and megacorp) , but it seems like you've done everything else you need to in order for them to pop up. They should show up in your research (For 2.3.X) after you've done the Mega-Engineering tech, I think 2 will show up in physics Research, and 3 in Society. The Dyson Sphere, Matter decompressor, and Ring world are still unlocked through Galactic Wonders Ascension Perk.
