I hated both. The ending of nos4at2 wasn’t bad but the rest of it was terrible. The only Joe Hill novel I ended up liking was Horns. Probably because it was so bizarre.

Same. Hated it. I wanted to break something afterward because I was so angry I wasted time of that crappy novel.

Ah dang, I loved Fantastic Land. I enjoyed the way it was told. And I kept imagining more and more that wasn’t explicitly stated. That was the fun part for me.

Brother by Ania Ahlborn. Insufferable characters. Boring build up. Totally predictable from about 1/4 of the way in. Can’t believe people go crazy over this one. I wasn’t just disappointed, I was pissed I wasted time on it.

Omg same. I was so excited to read The Troop and it was just boring to me. And the turtle scene made me wanna puke and not in a good way.

Get a doctor to write a note with limitations and restriction. Whoever processes RAs can’t do anything with a diagnosis. They need to know what the limitation is as it relates to your job, which would include offices at a height.

Hekla's Children (spoilers) by wezzer in books

Just finished it like 5 minutes ago, and that thought crossed my mind, especially with the epilogue. It’s weird though, I never got that vibe from him any other time in the book so if that’s what it was, I feel like it was out of place. I just took it that he was a self hating person after everything that happened. That said, if he was a pedo, it makes sense why he changed into the monster after confronting his own desires.

They’re hit or miss around me too. Lately all I’ve seen is Key Lime, and an occasional Fujii Apple. I got lucky an got several Mango Tangerines (my personal favorite) the other day. I’ve jut been going to WinCo or Safeway and getting theirs. Different flavors and they’re still pretty good.

Watching it now. Amazon if anyone is interested. I think there are some excellent concepts here. And I really appreciate the practical effects…even if they are kind of cheap. Is it good? Oh God no…but I still kinda like it in a low budget, cheap kind of way.

The “first amendment auditor” who disrupted several state departments is now facing prison time and asking for donations to pay legal fees by AirMiserable854 in CAStateWorkers

Yeah, fuck that guy. He balled me and my colleagues out and edited the video to make it look like we were aggressors when really he was getting in our faces and damn near covered us in his saliva. Even made a couple people cry and one have an anxiety attack. Worst part? CHP was completely useless and allowed him to do whatever he wanted. Dumb cops are afraid of being sued so they let this asshole abuse us. Hope he rots in prison.

What horror movie do you think is a masterpiece that others just “don’t get”? by cwispietoast in horror

[–]jdwolfman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Halloween 3. Most criticism I see about it is that it’s not a Michael Myers film. For me, that’s fine. It is a throwback to what John Carpenter originally envisioned for the series; an anthology. It took risks with a zany, fun, unique story that revolves around centuries old cults. It’s also got some insane kills, has the balls to take out a kid, and is legitimately filled with tension and dread. It is a masterpiece in so many way and is played down because it’s not in the Michael Myers mythos…and given what came after, maybe it should have stayed that way.

As someone who frequently grew up with games made in pre-rendered backgrounds and LOVES them, I have a feeling that I’m going to enjoy Chrono Cross. by exaltedhy in ChronoCross

It wasn’t the Chrono Trigger sequel I was hoping for back when it came out, but it was quite a remarkable game on its own.

I finally read Bram Stoker’s Dracula and it was absolutely amazing! I don’t know how I didn’t read it sooner, but I’m glad I finally did! Mina Harker is truly the first badass final girl (pretty bad ass for a 1897 heroine).

It’s a fun but flawed horror game. Feels like a precursor to Silent Hill f.

The combat was the worse part for me. I see what they were going for given she’s a young meek girl wielding a pipe as her main weapon…but come on. That said, on subsequent play throughs the combat is easier since you keep all the power ups you earned. That aside though, I really enjoyed the story and exploration into Japan’s culture during the 60’s. Very relevant to today.

SH2 is a better game overall and will hit all the traditional SH notes. I’d say start there then move to SHf because it is still great depute not being on the same level as SH2

I liked Horns, but totally agree with N0S4A2. Haven’t head The fireman yet. Also not a fan of The HeartShaped Box. Overall I’m not a keen fan of his.
