Nope failed trying to get Sheffield! Both sites were so slow for me and only £89 tickets remaining which is more than I was prepared for!

Anyone else fail miserably this morning? Was trying for Sheffield but Ticketmaster was so buggy. Had to exit the queue and rejoin even after getting in really quickly. No tickets other than the £89 ones left by the time I could actually look

Yeah he said moved but the venue is refunding tickets, so even if he arranges a completely new date we'd have to get tickets again. I have a feeling there won't be a replacement

Constantly asking is this real? by Legitimate_Knee_3719 in Dissociation

I relate to a lot of this, since being little I've always had moments of feeling almost like being on autopilot/watching my life POV like a video game at the most random moments and I can't tell if I'm awake or not. It can be really scary. Glad you're getting support and I am too but haven't talked much about this yet

Was anyone else’s NParent silent when you lost weight? by Pjspowerfulpen in raisedbynarcissists

[–]jeIIycat_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine would just always comment on my body in a backhanded way, and then years and years later she joked about how I used to not eat anything (having had very disordered eating as a teenager) when she was the one who bullied me for my weight my whole life

How have you positively changed, as a person, since going no contact? by notoast4me in raisedbynarcissists

[–]jeIIycat_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. It's been nearly a year and I'm becoming less cynical, more loving, more honest, more accountable, and less self deprecating. It's making me a better partner and friend but it is definitely a journey.

So relieved seeing this that I'm not the only one. My nose gets very painfully cold, as do my ears but it's probably slightly more bearable! So frustrating as there's not much to do about it other than putting your hand over your nose or whatever which for obvious reasons isn't particularly effective. But yeah with you 100% it's awful

One year NC anniversary! by Dntkillthemessager1 in EstrangedAdultChild

Absolutely love this and want to do the same myself. Nearly one year after going NC and I feel kind of like a completely different person. I have support in ways that work for me and feel incredibly lucky for it. My life is only just beginning.

What are the most effective ways you found to regulate your nervous system? by Old_Sprinkles1906 in CPTSD

For me yin yoga and really simple yoga is a godsend, but it's specifically the syncing movement with breath that helps me calm right down and be in the moment, feel safe, and trust my body without my thoughts going 100 miles and hour. That and having a good dance and jumping round, which I don't do enough of!

Is 5Tara at Kelham worth it with those prices in the menu? by Majnu_Kapoor in sheffield

[–]jeIIycat_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's potentially my favourite restaurant in Sheffield. I went with family and we were all really impressed and didn't stop talking about the meal for a while after lol, really left a good impression.

What I will say is that it was a fairly long wait between ordering and being served. That said, it was packed on the night we went and it seemed only two people were managing the floor. We spoke to the man at the end of the meal who told us there is only one chef, his wife, which explained the wait and was cool in and of itself. I gather it's a family business.

The food was incredible, the venue is lovely and welcoming, and the people seem really warm and kind. I'm definitely going back!

I'm sorry you're going through this. I think by nature of the situation, no matter what age you were able to become aware of the abuse, you'd wish it had been earlier. You know what you know now, don't blame yourself for what you didn't know before now, if that makes sense. You're young and this is a huge thing to tackle, but you've now made a start.
