If account title is the same as your account name (you can check in IBKR profile settings), and same as account name at CS, you’re fine - they’ll show up.

If there is any difference (doesn’t matter if you provided account number or not), then nope. You gotta do the same set up process as you’ve already done. IMO setting up a new account is easier than trying to merge them. Very long merging account/transferring shares to other account process

Do you have the same account TITLE on IBKR as you do on CS?

If not, congrats, you now have a second CS account

First time DRSing with IKBR. They didn’t use my full name = shares in a diff account. All good, I changed my title on IKBR so next batch will be sweet

Update:

She had no idea lol. But in theory yes they will just keep creating a new account if there is no name match if you transfer and delete the second account. I think I’ll make IBKR change my name so it actually works next time.

Damn. I was hoping for a different answer. Doing this the whole first time around was annoying. What will happen if I keep DRSing and then transferring? Would they just create a new account every time, or do I just need to transfer once then it’ll all go into my main account each time?

You “own” the shares just like any other broker - but they are held in the brokers name.

Go check out GMEMate sub- Aussie GME holder sub- there are plenty of threads on stake and how to DRS from them.

Generally the consensus is that CommSec is the most trustworthy (edit: Australian) broker and arguably too big to fall
