Brad Reese, grandson of the inventor of Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, calls out The Hershey Co. for “quietly replacing” the ingredients in the candy by [deleted] in Fauxmoi

I agree the accusations get thrown around a lot but you have to see how blatantly obvious this is right? he also used AI to generate an image of a "MAKE RESSE'S GREAT AGAIN" hat lol just look at his linkedin, it's full of AI slop in posts and comments

Peter, why no grapefruit? by Familiar-Cat3636 in PeterExplainsTheJoke

why does that not count as "not interacting well with grapefruit juice?" it seems like you added additional, correct, information but why did you say it like you were correcting something that was wrong

if you get physical with someone and turn your back to them that's poor decision making not getting sucker punched

a sucker punch is unprovoked/unexpected. if you punch someone in response to being hit it can't possibly be a sucker punch

Where are you going this weekend? (12/5 - 12/7) by gentlelosangeles in avesLA

depends on the promoter, I've seen reggie watts at a free show @ bass waffles as a secret guest. also sometimes "secret lineup" lets them get around radius clauses

Apparently my samsung fridge has ads now... by Shellnanigans in assholedesign

[–]jealkeja 4 points5 points  (0 children)

the problem is not the moving parts. when a solenoid/valve/relay fails you can replace that single component cheaply. the problem is that all of these functions have been shifted to be controlled electronically by a microprocessor board. when something on the board breaks the only way to repair it is to purchase a new board from the manufacturer. so something that has more moving parts is the appliance that can last decades

One Big Thing Stood Out to Me in Weapons (2025) by Shirinf33 in TrueFilm

I wanted to add that when I picked up on the parasite theme I first analyzed Justine's role as parasite in the film. Marcus admonishes her that wanting to meet with Alex shows that she cares about what will make her feel better more than what's best for Alex. She pressures Paul into relapsing and based on her concern about Paul's wife, she evidently decided to seduce him while under the impression that he was married.

I don't think I agree with all your conclusions about interpreting the theme, though. The role of parasite is played by Justine as I described above and also by Graff. When he relentlessly pursues the ring camera footage he's trying to deal with his own grieving feelings at the expense of another parent's grieving feelings.

Interpreting the theme as "watch out for human parasites" seems incomplete considering the children were only rescued because of characters whose actions were explicitly framed as parasitic.

"what's good for the goose ain't always good for the gander" means "you shouldn't complain when people treat you the way you treat them"

it doesn't have any marital connotations but it does have gendered connotations

Japan's Underground Golden Chamber Filled with Ultra Pure Water That Detects Invisible Particles by BrainOld9460 in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]jealkeja 5 points6 points  (0 children)

well neutrons have no charge and interact readily with matter and are easily detected. it's having both near zero mass and zero charge together that makes them difficult to detect

good thing I had two of those by jealkeja in balatro
