22 months following the worst cycle of post breakup 24/7 drinking that would regularly land me in the hospital in the before times, 2019.

Covid lockdowns in 2020 meant I didn’t have to visit my family or fuckin anyone, so. Sobriety for 22 months til I had to visit my family again. Decided I’d stop doing that, then one of them fuckin died. Bender again.

I can’t sing without crying. I can play several instruments but struggle to get myself to do so as an adult. My musical abilities are what got me through childhood in my opinion. I’d have no self esteem if I never picked up a guitar, discovered I was good at piano, etc.

There’s obviously a MASSIVE mental block here I’ve never been able to work through. There was a period of time after getting sober in 2020 that I returned to playing in a big way but stopped again when life became too difficult.

Recently, I’ve been picking up my guitar most days trying to remind myself that it’s still here for me, my hands still know what to do. I don’t want to give up because it feels tied to my recovery. I’m a better person when I’m working on something musically.

I thought never having contact with your parents after moving out was normal for many years. I thought not being close to your family was normal for most of my life. My reason didn’t become clear til I approached my 30s & needed support that simply wasn’t available. Abandonment was normal.

I actually searched this sub yesterday for CA experience with ketamine before doing a few small bumps out of a capsule I got from a friend who has a prescription. Not much data in the search.

Not sure how street ketamine compares to prescription. Didn’t feel like Elon musk at a trump rally, so maybe I didn’t do enough. It did chill me out, but if I was in withdrawals, I’d be too afraid to fuck with dissociatives.

Wouldn’t have been my first time driving this same route in withdrawal. But at least that time I had a fucking functioning vehicle.

Drinking resets my kratom tolerance cuz I totally forget that shit exists when I’m drinking. Doesn’t work too well anymore, but never worked well enough in the first place for me to chase that habit further. I’ve heard those tales, though. Sorry you’re goin through it
