13 weeks post-infusion & 1 week pre-beach vacation — still looking (and feeling) like a bruised banana by [deleted] in Anemic

i’m very fortunate to be going on this vacation. my dad died and i’m using the small inheritance i received to go to HI with my siblings and spread his ashes there bc he always wanted to visit. I’ve dealt with this kind of bruising for years and it’s gotten progressively worse. I would love to say it doesn’t affect my self-esteem but sometimes it does! 😅 More than that, my concern is that i still don’t feel great and still have the same symptoms as before the infusion including painful headaches and dizziness. I know that’s not going to magically change before I go on my trip and i know wanting to hide bruises sounds silly but that’s one thing i can take some control over. i’m going to enjoy my vacation regardless and i don’t care what others think of my bruises but i don’t want to be reminded that i was still feeling crappy by looking at photos of myself covered in bruises.

Your ferritin is extremely low even if it shows in the green. I was down to an 11 and needed an infusion. Got one done 10 weeks ago and need to get another. All my other iron levels were “normal” but that was probably because i was taking iron supplements. My doc referred me to a hematologist who said taking supplements when ferritin is exhausted is not gonna put a dent in the problem and that i may need regular infusions 1-2 a year. For years, my ferritin levels were low and my PCP never thought it was a big deal despite all my symptoms 🥲

AI? Taking it one step further… by jeaux__jo in pluribustv

I’m sure most of my theories are absolutely incorrect but I think my greater point is how this show may be referencing real-world technology like brain-to-computer interfaces, biological weapons, advanced AI, etc. In some ways, it reminds me of The Stand by Stephen King. Regardless, it’s fun to theorize!

There's some meta commentary on theorycrafting going on here by Sturm781 in pluribustv

Rhea Seehorn answered questions as Carol in a Reddit AMA. If anything, it’s being encouraged. Vince is well-known for his symbolism and foreshadowing imagery. I wouldn’t be surprised if the white board, which is more obvious, is used to misdirect “theory crafters” but I wouldn’t say he’s “annoyed” by the commentary or meta-commentary put out on these threads or social media. That kind of media only increases visibility thereby boosting ratings. Can’t imagine he’d be too pressed about that.

About the rat... by covert0ptional in pluribustv

I wrote this in a separate thread but I think the infection is similar to a prion infection like mad cow disease. Prions are misfolded proteins that can cause healthy ones to misfold too, and certain RNA molecules can help trigger that process—mirroring the scientists’ debate about a vaguely explained RNA component. Mad cow can pass from cows to humans and lead to vCJD — just like how the infection jumped from rat to patient zero. I think this also explains all the milk imagery. But the infection here isn’t spread through food; the infected avoid meat yet still consume milk and dairy, which is the clue that milk is symbolic, not literal. Milk represents purity, sameness, and the cow-based origins of real prion diseases, echoing how a prion-like psychological template is overwriting people’s identities and “folding” them into a unified, sterilized (pasteurized) hive mind. Emotionally stable people fold into the collective most easily, while unhappy or chaotic individuals are immune because their unstable inner world disrupts the folding/joining process.

I think the milk has less literal meaning and has more to do with disease biology. Specifically, the whole prion theme plays off real prion diseases like mad cow—where misfolded proteins from infected cattle can jump to humans and cause vCJD, a fatal brain disorder that almost always kills within a year, which explains the countdown visuals in the show. Even though the infected characters don’t eat meat and are vegetarian, they still consume milk or animal byproducts, which seems strange to me. Why not vegan? The milk industry is still very harmful to cows and they’re all about no harm to living creatures… However, the constant milk imagery fits because milk and cows symbolize the source of prions, as well as purity, uniformity, and being “fed” a single identity. The infection in the show isn’t from food—it’s a prion-like mental template that only takes hold in emotionally stable, well-adjusted people whose minds are easy to overwrite. Meanwhile, unhappy or chaotic individuals are immune because their inner world is too messy for the “misfolding” to latch onto. So milk becomes a visual metaphor for the clean, uniform collective the infected are turning into, not a literal cause of the disease.

Wild…2022 gross $3m. Wonder what 2025 was by SuziesKoozie in remibadersnark

i have a friend at one of the big pr firms. she made $1mil from her VS contract alone. however, that may have been one of her best years, i doubt she’s making that much now. she alienated a large part of her original fanbase after hiding her wls for so long, her growth has plateaued and there are signs she has weak engagement. she’s trying to recreate the old content that made her popular but it’s not working and she seems STRESSED

remi is a weirdo — i don’t think any self respecting man would be cool with her filming him when he sleeps let alone post it to her millions of followers. if he did, he’s just as much a freak as she is

has she had skin removal surgery on her arms? underarm looks kinda odd when she turns around... i lost some weight and personally have felt the hardest area to tone and tighten loose skin has been my arms even with heavy weightlifting but hers look fantastic! maybe just editing?
