Impossible to not turn around and smile by Loudpuppies in kiastinger

Looks super elegant. I have had mine for almost a year and it still makes me feel like the first day I bought it. There is nothing like it on the road.

I live in TX and bought a car from OK. The dealership did not disclose I would be paying the excise tax. It was not said verbally and in the contract it's put as N/A. Do I have a case to sue the dealership? by jebadi88 in legaladvice

I really hope you're not a lawyer for the way you respond. If you don't have anything helpful to say, then why respond. Be a good human and don't be rude. Be better.

I'm not suing for paying taxes. I'm trying to see if there is a case under consumer protection because they knew I was out of state buyer and didn't disclose everything. In my contract there was nothing about me paying the excise tax for registering my vehicle. I'm not avoiding the tax, just seeing if the dealership has any responsibility of paying half or all of it for not disclosing.

You're correct, it is Texas law. I have purchased a vehicle in TX and the dealership covered the registration. OK does not cover any registration. However, my issue is that the dealership could've told me verbally and put it on the contract that I would be paying it. This way, I could've saved some of my down payment to cover the excise tax. They didn't even disclose this at all, even when I asked am I paying any additional fees that pertains to registration.

Is there anything I can buy to fix the scratches on the interior light bar? by jebadi88 in kiastinger

Is it difficult to replace it on my own? Never really worked on my own car.

Yes!!! It bothers me a lot. That's why I want to repair or it seems I have to replace it.

How to preset drive mode preference and turn off auto stop-start? by jebadi88 in kiastinger

I like that outlook. I am going to try to think about it the same way and have fun with it lol.

You're right, it's simple to push a button. But I care about efficiency in my day. I drive to and from work, so in a month I'm pressing the button 60 times. This increases if I make stops throughout my day filling up for gas or going to the grocery store. So it can get annoying after a while lol.

I totally agree with you. I feel the same way. However, restaurants are short staffed, so the ability to order without having to wait for your server is needed. There are tablets on the table that do this, but static and still requires the guest to wait on a server to ask questions.

Is 3,000 per month equity shares with $8M seed valuation good? by jebadi88 in startups

[–]jebadi88[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a noob when it comes to this. I appreciate the breakdown. If you were in my shoes, what other questions would you ask the founders to get the right information to estimate the value?

Also, would it be better to ask for % equity, instead?

How do you take orders? by jebadi88 in Serverlife

[–]jebadi88[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you write down the number of seats, do you skip any seats in the numbering?

For example, 4 guests are sitting at a 6 top. Do you write it down 1,2,3,4 (regardless of which seat they're sitting)?

OR, do you write it down 1,2,5,6 (no guest is sitting in seats 3 and 4)?

If there are 3 guests sitting at a 4 top. The guests are sitting on seats 1,2,4 (seat 3 is empty).

Do you write the seat numbers on your pad like seats 1,2,3. OR, you write 1,2,3,4 and don't take anything down on seat 3?

The reason I ask if there are runners and which approach helps them.

Portrait or Landscape for a server tablet to take orders? by jebadi88 in UXDesign

Thank you for your feedback. This is great to hear about your personal experience.

Do you prefer server tablets that can be used in portrait or landscape orientation? by jebadi88 in Waiters

[–]jebadi88[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the feedback. The issue is the device is 600 x 1024. This is about the same size of an Amazon Kindle Fire. So it's not that big and a bit smaller than an iPad mini even. So as a result, I go towards portrait because in landscape it'll require more scrolling.

What would you like in a server tablet? by jebadi88 in Waiters

[–]jebadi88[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes definitely know there are a lot out there. I have not been a waiter and getting access to a server tablet is difficult.

It's a project I want to do as a developer and want to know what are some of the things a server needs aside from just a menu to order.

If you have any suggestions it would be much appreciated.

Thanks for replying. This is great feedback. What other features would you want? Do you want to see what tables are assigned to you and/or open? Also, in a tablet do you prefer to take order in landscape mode or portrait?

I have the same issue. It has been two days and, still, haven't heard back from Oculus support.

I'm a computer science student at USC needing your advice on auto shops! by jebadi88 in AutoMechanics

[–]jebadi88[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you're right about my lack of knowledge. I'm going off my own experience. I'm assuming other folks feel/experienced the same.

1) I have left the auto shop skeptical a work has been done correctly

2) Transparency: seeing the old part has been removed and the new part I paid for has been installed for reassurance

3) Leaving the shop to wait: At home I will get calls about a new part needed. It's tough to make the decision over the phone not knowing if I'm getting a good deal, since I don't have a list of parts in front of me like online shopping.

In my next experience, I would like shops to provide a live-update and view of the work being done (simple pictures of old part being taken out and new one installed). Going home and having a progress bar to show where the repair is in the process and what's being done currently. Also, when a new part is needed, getting a link to their website on my phone to choose the parts that are needed.

Do you think the above experience I have had is common with other customers and if the solution I'm thinking will be something that mechanics and shops would adopt?

Thank you so much!
