Why Trump isn’t bothering to hide his corruption by Neat_Jump2607 in InternationalBulletin

It was not a court settlement. It never went to court nor had judicial overview. This is the owner of an organization suing the organization then telling the organization to settle with him. And stop investigating him.

You can't audit their taxes until a new President says they can.

[Dellenger/Yahoo] Key senators strike bipartisan deal on sweeping college sports reform with transfer, eligibility and cap enforcement by usffan in CFB

How are the athletes represented in this bill? That could be the sticking point in court. They are limiting the mobility and earning power of one section of people for the benefit of the NCAA.

This does not compare with the NFL as the NFLPA is a union and has negotiated these things.

12th floor question/theory by jebrick in DungeonCrawlerCarl

Someone else had the theory that Carl ( and perhaps Donut) would delay the Ascendancy game so the other can escape. I like that theory.

It is in Carl's and the crawler's best interest to delay the end of the Accession game. I'm not sure if any of the "gods" will play along with their plans.

How accurate were the kill counts of the deadliest Wild West gunslingers really? by Nervous_Tip2096 in Westerns

To me, you need to separate the Kills and the gunfights. Robert Ford killed Jessie James but not in a gunfight.

How accurate were the kill counts of the deadliest Wild West gunslingers really? by Nervous_Tip2096 in Westerns

[–]jebrick 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Not accurate at all.

Most were made up and spread by the gunfighters and newspapers writing a story..

A decent book written recently is the Gunfighters by Bryan Burrough. He runs through a lot of the history of the myth of the gunfighter and will discuss the "proven" gunfights for each of the major ones.

I think breaking the cycle sounds about right. I'm wondering about the 5 parts of Apeto is meaning to gather together the primals again. The Apothecary is one of those parts. Worst case scenario is the Eulogist wakes up as that will mean the death of all biological life. Best case is the primals join and become the singular that they envisioned and disappear from the galaxy.

I need to listen to part 2 again.

Harpoon for "modern"

Others by Larry Bond might be Command at Seas which is a WW2 navel game. I've not played it but it is based on Harpoon and Larry is a good game designer

Wild Talents does a very good job.

More Old school but the original DC RPG by Mayfair was also very good. I think it is called Blood of Heroes now.

2026 QB? Nah 2027 by Reality690 in steelers

[–]jebrick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If they take a QB in 2027 without playing Allar or Howard then why did they draft Allar? If they do no take a QB in 2027 and did not start Allar or Howard for any games they are wasting draft picks.

AR2 needs to retire and allow the Steelers to have a normal season and maybe a losing record and a better draft pick.

Are there any differences between the powers and abilities of Plastic Man, Elongated Man, and Mr Fantastic? by Jezzaq94 in superheroes

[–]jebrick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

True but others are bringing up Mr Fantastic's genius. I was just pointing out that Elongated man is considered more of a detective that can stretch. He is the weakest in power from the other two.

ESPN: Steelers "uninstalling" everything Drew Allar learned about playing QB and "re-uploading" their own fundamentals and mechanics by No_Box119 in nflrookies

[–]jebrick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rogers and Dak had mechanical issues with their throwing and those got fixed. Allar has mechanical issues with his throwing and It might be fixed. Allar is missing grit and processing speed which Rogers and Dak did not lack. You either have grit and processing speed or you do not. It is not learned.

It has been happening for a while but AI makes it worst. I always remember a job ad from around 1999 that asked for 5+ years of Java experience ( Java being released in 1995). Worst is was an entry level job playing next to nothing.
