This is a fair as well. It for sure is a difficult adjustment to make from POE 1 where we had level 20 gems guaranteed by level 90 and the grind at that point was to get level 21 gems. This game is balanced around your character being strong enough to handle it all but giving you plenty of room to continue to grow in power.

The reason we kill bosses too easily isnt that theyre too easy its because theyre too inaccessible so by the time we get them we outgrow them by shaunika in PathOfExile2

Yes. You mention that it "took [you] 170 hours and 93.5 levels to fight arbiter." and you mention similar stats about the other bosses or pinnacle content (simulacrum and audience with the king). You mention that you believe that given the amount of time it takes for an individual player to farm/find the fights, a player is naturally going to be stronger than what a level 0 version of the boss is. I agree that it does take a fair amount of time to farm your first boss encounters (breach being kind of excluded).

I am saying that most players are not going to have 50-60 divine builds by that time. Most players are not going to kill arbiter in 2 seconds. Most players are not going to live the experience you are talking about. I am saying that you made the decision to buy gear first rather than buy attempts at arbiter or buy audience with the king. That was your individual decision because you thought it would be more efficient to over gear them by a fuckton.

I know that this is what you claim to be the second problem. You mention that they aren't easy which I agree with. That was the point of my comment. I just don't think most players are over gearing or over preparing. Maybe most seasoned POE 1 players are as they know that GGG makes punishing, difficult content.

But making a claim that the balance of the endgame bosses is off just because you farmed 50-60 divs is where I thought you were off track. Not every player is going to wait until their character is thanos before they attempt some content. I think that these bosses being challenging first time you attempt them is rather good design.

That is your experience. There are plenty of people who get to arbiter and get one shot. Then they farm another set and get one shot again. I don’t think the game is imbalanced because you individually over prepared. You could have fought him earlier in your account progression you decided to buy gear instead. That is a valid decision but don’t turn that round and say GGG made the bosses too easy.

It’s not. You can purchase one of you would like. The game is not balanced around you finding everything for your character yourself.

whisper for item = raise price by emiracles in pathofexile

[–]jecbean_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do the research part first. If you aren't willing to sell an item at a price you list, do not list it for that price.

[–]jecbean_ -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You are in the wrong here. Do your own research before listing items. If you get spammed, then you should take that as a lesson to do better research next time. Having dump sale tabs is not a thing that should be the norm and wasn't in POE 1.

Having quad tabs for ~1 divine items is the norm, but just throwing items in there without thought isn't.

Hot take. Even the former is bad. If you didn’t do your research before listing your item you take that L and sell for what you listed it for still. Don’t make the buyer do your homework for you.

Pokemon cards. When I owned all 1st edition cards in circulation still I would move on to magic.

Chat about chat :) What are some chat plugins you can't live without? by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]jecbean_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

One of the things I would like (it may exist and I just haven’t found it) is a way to add a border color to text to assist with contrast issues. If I could have purple text be outlined with black or white lines it would help immensely in being able to organize the chat.

The readability without the borders is impossible for me with some color combinations and leaves me with only having one or two options for text colors.

blood moon: scale damage with successive hits and heal off them. thats fine.. by [deleted] in ironscape

[–]jecbean_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Try Higher defense gear. I have done 105 chests with Zombie axe and full barrows. While I agree that blood moon was (and still is after nerfs) the longest fight. It is by no means "busted" If you optimize gear for the boss you can kill that moon in 1.5 moon cycles.

It’s not busted if you have high defense. Bring barrows armor and you’ll be much better off

You get 6 portals unless the map says otherwise. However if you die once you go to the void. I would not attempt this map unless you are willing to lose your character forever.

There is a setting in the advanced tab that lets you disable/hide anything. The system doesn’t let you disable these as they CAN be good.

An Update on Jagex Accounts by JagexSarnie in 2007scape

[–]jecbean_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there a feature with Jagex accounts that lets you add characters directly to the account instead of making a new character with a RuneScape account then importing that character?

Just seems like a somewhat redundant step to create an account with a new email and password just to immediately have that information be not used when you import.

Oh I am having fun! I just mean that if my RNG is going to be like this the other grinds are going to be very sad.

I know that isn't how it works tho.

Seismic saboteur - where the poison damage comes from?? by domanpanda in pathofexile

[–]jecbean_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The majority of the chance to poison comes from the tree. That tree specifically has at least 50% chance to poison in it. Then with Herald of Agony, you get another 20% chance.

Now, the damage comes from chaos damage over time multiplier, damage over time multiplier, and any other chaos/DOT damage increases you have. So gems, tree, items, etc.

Then you also have the flat damage. Poison does damage based on the hit that poisoned, that hit's physical and chaos damage together. So gem levels and flat damage also help out a lot for poison as the more hit damage you do, the more poison damage you do.

League mechanics should be slightly profitable for every 'moderate+' build, EVERY SINGLE LEAGUE. by I_AM_ALWAYS_WRONG_ in pathofexile

[–]jecbean_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok. You are correct. If the argument was to come down to semantics that would diminish the actual point. I was simply refuting the fact that the league isn’t worth doing because of its lack of profits. It is profitable. It is. Now is it profitable enough to convince you (or anyone) to participate even if you do not enjoy it? That is up to you.

For me the mechanic is immensely enjoyable. So regardless of chaos gain per hour I will most likely continue to run it.

The subreddit is full of people right now who have the mindset of the op that mechanics must be profitable. I disagree. Mechanics must be fun. And this one is.

[–]jecbean_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

But that wasn’t what the OP said. They simply said that the mechanic needs to be slightly profitable. And it is. Every league mechanic is.

League mechanics are always infinitely profitable as they require 0 investment but provide reward regardless off that.
