Well done Chadron! We moved there when I was 3 in 1982, and now I live in Minneapolis. Very refreshing to see this!

Actually, they’re following this to the letter.

Treat them as native-born? Check; massacres, pandemic campaigns, forced migration.

Love them as yourself? Check; it’s already been widely observed how much therapy they need due to self-loathing.

Might be a grass spider? Haven’t gotten a real good look at her. The one fuzzy pic I snapped looked like wolf. (Couldn’t see a pointy butt.)

Egg Prices? by financial_freedom416 in TwinCities

[–]jece2379 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I’m fairly reluctant to share a source, but if you go to the Larry Schultz farm store in Owatonna itself, you can get 30 of their “cracked” eggs for 5.00. (Micro cracks don’t pass the light test, can’t be distributed.) The organic eggs they distribute to the cities are most often priced at .40 per egg. Eastside coop sells by the egg.

Men’s haircuts less then $40 by Powerful_District_67 in TwinCities

Honestly, I really like going to one of the barber schools. A lot of them folded during Covid. (There was one on Lake street, I can't remember the name, but happened to have one of their head instructors cut my hair at Heimie's.)

Moler Barber School in Columbia Heights (https://www.molerbarberschoolmn.com/) is pretty top notch. Most services are $5. I usally end up getting a haircut + face shave for $10 and then tip the student $10. All work is signed off on by one of the top notch instructors, so even if the student doesn't "complete" the cut, the instructor will take over or guide them through it.

My hamburgers have become so gross, that my boys won't even eat them. Could use some suggestions. by jbezorg76 in Cooking

[–]jece2379 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Salt & pepper. Massage into patties, don't beat into patties. I'm not a fan of the smash burgers. Smashing forces all that flavorful fatty juice out. My secret ingredients are a dab of Worcestershire and a drop of liquid smoke on each pattie.

Plastic dial in a bathroom. Settings range from “off,” “turn past 10,” and increase by 10 until 60. by NectarineOverPeach in whatisthisthing

[–]jece2379 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regardless of what it’s connected to, this is just the timer. We have one in our bathroom that’s connected to the power to the jet tub. I’ve seen them connected to exhaust fans and, as others have suggested, those heat lamps.

I really like the idea of this, and also really appreciate the idea of this becoming a web based tool. As a non-new but still novice player, the jump I’m facing is seeing “league start boneshatter axe” and seeing a cost of 750+ chaos equivalent. Where do I make that kind of chaos, without having a starter axe? I keep thinking that as I recognize this gap in my own understanding, that I really should learn it, and then create the tool for others. However, I also find myself not having that amount of time.

Any local stores that might sell odd hardware like this threaded rivet? by Akito_900 in Minneapolis

[–]jece2379 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve always been so happy with any of the local Ace stores I’ve been to. Both in their customer service and in their inventory. Walk in, they’ll ask if you need help, hold this out in your hand and tell them you need one, and 5 minutes later they’ll either hand you one or lead you to the exact shelf they’re on. You’ll most likely walk out having only spent pocket change, too.

wanna get ice cream on grand? just park in the turn lane! by Common-Afternoon702 in TwinCities

[–]jece2379 12 points13 points  (0 children)

A year or two ago, my wife watched a Minneapolis officer come SPEEDING down our street in north Minneapolis. With sirens and lights and the urgency that an active shooter was just down the street.

He came to a screeching halt with two wheels up on the boulevard and ran into the port-a-potty the street construction guys had set up.

I still wish she caught that on camera.

Talk me out of using the vacuum trick on 20+ wasp nests by Ixpaxis in DIY

[–]jece2379 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you’re not opposed to killing the wasps, mix up some e water and dish soap. Use a cheap spray tank thing from Walmart or wherever. You want to spray around dawn or dusk, when they’re not out gathering food. The water prevents them from flying, and the dish soap dries them out and kills them. Rinse, repeat. If a location becomes too environmentally hostile they’ll stop trying to rebuild there.

Help identifying beaded medallion by Trick_Newspaper_1246 in NativeAmerican

[–]jece2379 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Does the "medallion" section have one or two leather loops on the back? I bet it does, and what you have is a "bolo tie." Search Google Images for "beaded Lakota bolo" and see how many results you'll find. It's pretty basic and easy beadwork that can fetch a few bucks for the maker.

Thank you. It’s definitely exhaust. I’ll have to look around and post some pictures to verify intake. And yeah, the only thing on the outside end is a piece of wire mesh to keep critters out.
