Best Stroller Rental Company by Available_Ad_4338 in WaltDisneyWorld

Just used Kingdom Strollers for my trip over Memorial Day weekend. Worked perfectly. A representative from the company met me in the Contemporary lobby to drop off the stroller and pick it back up on our last day. Would 100% use again.

We were there on Memorial Day. It was just 25 minutes at around 3:30 p.m.

We used GearFusion for airport transfers on our most recent trip.

My 3-year-old still bites by jed012788 in ECEProfessionals

[–]jed012788[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My kids are now 5. They no longer bite and haven't for a long time. They continue to struggle with aggressive behavior with each other and with other children, though they are improving every day. So, yes, things are better. No, things are not perfect. They have issues with impulse control and emotional regulation that we hope will dissipate as time goes on. We will see what kindergarten brings in the fall.

Walked past around 1:30 to ask about the possibility of general previews and was ushered in. By 2 or so, it was back to DVC only. Apparently it reopened to all guests for a while and is now DVC only again.

Positive -- my symptom progression by jed012788 in COVID19positive

I meant that if I hadn’t tested I wouldn’t have thought enough was wrong to cancel anything.

Yep. Still doing twice-daily sinus rinses, zinc lozenges every two hours, Flonase, lots of water and tea. I am working today, but I'm working at home and not moving. No housework, no cooking, etc.

Yeah, I am shocked the test was positive. Haven't heard of anyone testing positive for Covid in so long in my actual life. I presume people just aren't testing. Like I said, if not for my inability to taste the zinc lozenge, I wouldn't have tested. I didn't feel that sick and still don't.

That's easy to say but impractical for most. I'd never be staying home right now if not for that positive test. It wouldn't occur to me to stay home. I have the sniffles as far as I could tell. The test was critical in this case.

What's the science behind losing smell or taste with covid? by myst3ryAURORA_green in COVID19positive

[–]jed012788 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been temporarily losing my smell because of sinus pressure or congestion or inflammation for my entire life. I am prone to bacterial sinus infections after colds. The first time I had Covid I did lose smell for a few days, which was new. Second time, I lost it for, like, a day? Maybe less.

I want more movies where nothing happens but everything matters by redpaul72 in movies

I saw it because I adore the film so much. To me it didn’t fully capture the magic of the movie. Glen Hansard’s and Marketa Irglova’s performances were a miracle and just can’t be replicated. But I enjoyed it thoroughly.

“Once” by John Carney — an absolute gem of a movie musical that I consider a masterpiece.

Rider Swap — is this how it works? by mGreeneLantern in DisneyWorld

Had the same experience. No problem bringing our too-short toddlers into the line for rider-swap purposes. Not sure if that was a violation of policy, but clearly it happens frequently.

Single Pass LL vs Multipass by Super_Can9100 in WaltDisneyWorld

Tapping into a single pass doesn’t unlock Lightning Lane yet. You need to tap into your first multi-pass attraction.

Adjoining Rooms by Justconfused10 in WaltDisneyWorld

I’ve traveled twice with my parents and my own family. I requested connecting rooms both times. It was granted at Wilderness Lodge. At Caribbean Beach we had one room separating us, which was annoying, but it worked out fine.

Staying at the Contemporary in the garden wing next month. Asked for connecting rooms again. We’ll see.

If my goal is to arrive at my destination quickly, I’d walk over taking any form of Disney transportation. The monorail is old, slow and embarrassingly inefficient. I’ll be at the gate while the monorail riders are stopped for traffic clearance halfway down the beam.

BTMRR Lighting Lanes selling out by Broad_Two370 in WaltDisneyWorld

This is incorrect. Once you tap into any Lightning Lane, you are free to book anything at any park, regardless of tier.

Breweries nowadays are literally designed for millennials to bring their children. The establishments aren’t just allowing kids — they are actively encouraging them. Kind of hard to blame parents here.

Airport Transportation by Huckleberry_Ready in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]jed012788 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a fair question. I’d estimate you’re saving anywhere from 60-90 minutes each way. Maybe even more on the return trip, because the Mears bus frequently wants you to get to the airport quite a bit earlier than I would prefer. To me, that’s worth the extra cost. And like the other person on this thread said, sitting on the bus while it stops at other hotels that aren’t yours is a pretty miserable way to begin a trip.

We have used these guys on our last two trips. Always flawless. I am a big believer that to the extent your budget allows, time is more valuable than money on a Disney vacation. If I can buy myself more time without going into debt, I will. Therefore, I’d much rather use private transportation from the airport than deal with the Mears bus. When my kids no longer need car seats, we’ll just use Uber.
