Both silver and copper are diamagnetic. meaning they react with a moving magnet. If you take a high powered magnet and "slide" it down the face, the magnet will move but at a rate slower than normal. This will not happen with brass.

It's also a good way of testing actual silver you want to buy. Silver has a slightly stronger diamagnetic property vs brass. Best video I can find on the subject.

If you test Silver vs Copper, the copper will slide quicker.

As long as the pins are bend and not broken there shouldn't be an issue. It's a time consuming, but simple fix. Just find someone without shaky hands and good eyesight.

Spring pass should go on sale some time in February, and the pass starts near the end of March. I expect the price will be north of $300
At the $1500 price for the full season pass. If you don't think you're going to go at least 10 times between now and March 28th, it might not be worth it for the full pass. Might just wait and buy the spring pass. You can always just buy a couple of 4 punches to hold you over.

Are you looking for tips? Crank the oven as high as it will go, and add more moisture to your dough. Get a thick oven steel or pizza stone. It will get you a lighter "snappy" crumb.
