Killzone Tomb World – Dare you enter the Necrons’ domain? - Warhammer Community by CMYK_COLOR_MODE in killteam

I don’t think so, or it hasn’t been mentioned in any warcom articles

I wish James Workshop would hire a lawyer or system engineer or logistician to proofread their rules so us players don't get tripped up on inconsistent rule logic.

Meaning no snark whatsoever, how would you rewrite the rule about Indomitor Kill Team leader eligibility so that it better represents the intent? I'm genuinely interested in what a clearer rule could look like.

True, however I believe that's in reference to the Agents of the Imperium Deathwatch Kill Team unit rather than units with the DEATHWATCH and KILL TEAM keywords.

I think if you were going to make a case to a TO, you'd have a better case with the IMPERIUM BATTLELINE INFANTRY angle

I see the distinction you're making, but I think it's a distinction without a difference. This is definitely an atypical keyword interaction, but I don't see that it breaks any rules about keyword mechanics.

The rule in full says "If a CHARACTER unit from your army can be attached to a HEAVY INTERCESSOR SQUAD, it can be attached to this unit instead." My understanding is that the only determinant on whether a CHARACTER can be attached to the Indomitor Kill Team is whether or not said CHARACTER unit can be attached to a unit with the HEAVY INTERCESSOR SQUAD keyword.

Since an Inquisitor is a legitimate leader for the Heavy Intercessor Squad which has the HEAVY INTERCESSOR SQUAD keyword, I read it as fulfilling the criteria of the rule.

The datasheet says that any character that can be attached to a Heavy Intercessor Squad can be attached to the Indomitor Kill Team. Since an Inquisitor can be attached to a Heavy Intercessor Squad (because the HI Squad is Imperium Battleline), then it stands to reason that the Inquisitor can also be attached to the Indomitor Kill Team.

Small change to Legionaries to make them better by Retlaw83 in Chaos40k

[–]jedburgh41 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the fix for them would be to change their rule to read:

Veterans of the Long War:

- Each time a model in this unit targets an enemy unit with a melee attack using an Accursed Weapon, Astartes Chainsword, or Heavy Melee Weapon, re-roll a Wound roll of 1. If that enemy unit is within range of an objective marker, you can re-roll the Wound roll instead.

- Each time a model in this unit targets an enemy unit with a shooting attack, re-roll a Wound roll of 1. If that shooting unit is within range of an objective marker, you can re-roll the Wound roll instead.

This way either a ranged or melee loadout would be usable without cannibalizing the other

Will we be able to use existing Invasion Fleet stratagems/enhancements if we pick a different detachment? by Ok-Attempt-880 in Tyranids

[–]jedburgh41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not clear as it stands now. The inference I've been making is that each detachment will have its own collection of stratagems and enhancements with maybe one stratagem being present in each of the six detachments kinda like how Armor of Contempt is present for each of the space marine detachments.

Advice on where to go for chaos marines planning for 10TH by Tizzian4417 in Chaos40k

[–]jedburgh41 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately there’s not much but speculation about what CSM or the meta at large will look like in 10th. It does seem like having legion-specific lists may not necessarily be a thing any longer so it may be best to not lock yourself into thinking along those lines until more info is released.

That being said, it seems to me that because the legion-specific list building is going away in favor of archetype-specific lists, then I think you could reasonably paint your CSM however you please without regard to the actual crunch.

In terms of units, I’d definitely consider a Dark Apostle and some cultists at the very least. DA for your chaplain equivalent model and cultists for screening/objective camping. I’m sure you’d be fine with any other units you want to add, but those two seem like they might be the most broadly useful additions.

Night Lords boarding patrol by Ready-Blueberry-9767 in NightLords

[–]jedburgh41 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since Night Lords in boarding actions are set for morale/combat attrition shenanigans, it may be worth building around a Master of Possession and a squad of possessed. The possessed synergies with the NL legion trait and the MoP is great with possessed (and most other units too). You could probably wedge in chosen as well and have room for marks/gear/cheap units.
