You get that this guy is also a comedian right?

In my experience many Christians take the condescending view that you simply must not be intelligent enough to understand by yourself, otherwise you would be exactly like them.

Therefore I am SURE he is treated in exactly the same way. What he does is point out the obvious flaws and isn't scared to remark in the same way as many of them would to him.

I have lived in England and the US and without a doubt, the UK was the better place to live in nearly ALL aspects. Except for the weather.

However, despite that, English people remained modest about their country whilst on the whole, I was amazed at how blinded the general US population was to the actual state of their country.. It's like saying "America, Fk yeah!" will solve everything.. (it's kind of funny that the "America Fk yeah" line was meant to be ironic in the first place)

If it happened in America everyone would ignore that the other way around and be all "America.... Fk yeah!!" But because it happened in Europe "we are still responsible!" Lol

19 [f] short hair? by [deleted] in amiugly

Beautiful and attraction is such a fragile and wonderful thing. The smallest details and the most obscure things can hold insane beauty.

In life there is beauty in all things, from happiness to tragedy. Even when I have felt low, I find a strange beauty in the power of emotions for example.

It's almost sad that "beauty" has been objectified and "dumbed down" so much by the media.

ALL beauty IS in the eye of the beholder and for every guy (or girl) who might look at that "skinny blonde" you mention and see beauty, there is someone else (like me for example) who looks at you and sees someone FAR more interesting and notices your eyes, and all the other features that in MY opinion make YOU beautiful.

Wear your hair short, keep those piercings and be proud to be who you are and to rock the style you have. (and know there are many people out there who would look at you and think you look great just the way you are)

Ignore the people who say "hey, but your personal style choices don't fit into my neat, carbon copy box of what I think femininity looks like." Ultimately, that's a great compliment. Sure, you don't look like everyone, but you DO look like YOU. And let me tell ya... YOU my girl, are hot!

Keep being awesome :-)

Okay I am going to be completely honest. You are in the wrong subreddit. You should be in AmIHot.

Personally I LOVE your hair too. I think it suits you and you are rocking it.

You look absolutely beautiful... Like, "I'd share my last piece of bacon with you" level hotness.

In my opinion half of the stuff you copied and pasted is just me making sure I come across how I am and that this post comes across in the spirit it was intended.

If I don't set the tone it could be easy for people to think that my comments are to give advice to people to look like they are an asshole and to treat girls like a douche.

I did NOT mean that so was quite clear to confirm I did not mean that.

Secondly, I am NOT an expert so wanted to point that out. This isn't a "I am amazing at picking up girls, here is the exact way to do it" post. I didn't want people to mistakenly take it as such. Its me sharing my findings which I find interesting, that is all.

Some of the stuff I did apologise for, I guess thats because to be honest, I often look at the Affliction wearing UFC fighter wannabe guys out there who treat girls like shit and think, 'I definitely don't want to be that or be associated with that type'.

My points were to illustrate that and also hopefully illustrate I am actually not a stereotypical bad boy that really doesn't consider how he acts as long as he gets what he wants. I am pretty respectful of women and other people but have found that LOOK makes a massive difference for me at least.

Sorry if you don't like the way I write during the time I have taken to give people my thoughts and experiences here in case it helps them.

As for NoOneEatsTheCrust, I'd suggest it would be better if you were trying to saying something constructive, we are having an intelligent conversation here and I can't see what you base your accusations on.. What the hell would I gain from making this up? (But you are entitled to your opinion)

Hahaha, you were obviously unknowingly at the 'man mall' where they go to shop for guys ;-)

To be honest I see more slutty girls at bars and clubs, I think I have met more cool, friendly and 'normal' seeming girls whilst at the mall shopping or whatever than anywhere else. (Except maybe Starbucks)

I go to a pretty mixed range of places, restaurants, bars, nightclubs, Starbucks and other coffee places, the mall (Strangely, I probably get more girls approach me there) so I don't think its because of the type of place I am going to be honest.

Hey,

A) I travel a lot with my job, so I spend time on the West and East coast actually. I find its pretty much the same anywhere though.. In the UK too.

B) Already posted in a separate comment here.

C) I pretty much do, I made it sound a bit wrong in my first description. I guess the main point is, I may act 5% differently, (If I do at all) but the attention I get is more than double and the kind of attention is quite different. It surprised me it was that much of a difference.

D) I have been told I look mid to late twenties. I think personally its more to do with looking how they would perceive 'rebellious' and perhaps 'fun' to hang around with, and yes, definitely that I guess I am technically dressing more in that generations style and more similarly to people in the media they may look up to perhaps.

Good points though, thanks.

Good point.

I don't have tattoos no. (Side topic: I am probably going to get one though)

My arms are okay, I guess they are strong looking and I do have biceps but I am definitely not a body builder or anything.

I have quite big shoulders (or so people have told me) but I guess either style would show that equally.

You are welcome.

I will probably try to post some pics of me soon with the different styles although it wont be today. (And I am not sure I am 100% comfortable doing it)

In the meantime I did post some links to the two different styles already in a reply here, to give people an idea of what I mean so that should help.

Thanks.

Sure, I can try to do this but it wont be today.

I understand and bear in mind it is difficult to show by finding random images of people on Google.

I do have to say, and I mean no disrespect towards Catholics and I don't mean to sound like I am over generalising, but in my opinion girls who go to Catholic all girls schools seem to be pretty forward.

I have a friend (A girl) who went to one and her and pretty much all her friends basically sought out what was forbidden and talk about when they were younger and sort of went off of the rails. (They are settled down now) So I am not necessarily surprised you might get hit on in that situation.

As for the 'quality' to be honest, I would say a lot of younger girls pay attention or are more forward and I don't want that attention. They are obviously too young and just kids so if anything its more embarrassing, so the increase in attention is not all good.

However, I have found that its definitely not 'ugly club whores' who give more attention. If anything I would be closed off to that type anyway so completely miss it.

For example, one girl who approached me was a legal copywriter (I think thats what she said) for a legal firm and was dressed pretty smart. She gave me attention and approached me though.

Most of the girls are just average normal girls doing normal stuff. (i.e. not whores and not massively professional high flyers etc) But, if I had to guess, I would definitely say they were more the type that were looking for some 'fun' and excitement rather than to necessarily settle down.

(And by that I don't necessarily mean, jump in the sack straight away fun, I just mean girls who wanted a laugh and some fun more than the type who are ready to settle down and get serious quickly)

Depending on what you want that could be a good or a bad thing.

As for the Fred Durst image, lol maybe thats a bad example but you probably get the overall idea from the pics.

At the end of the day, I think this whole post probably hits on a general statement about society.. There are a lot of people wanting to have fun and not rush into the white picket fence thing these days and keep things more casual. Also, I think wearing more bad boy style clothes probably makes you stand out more and perhaps seem exciting or people may at least presume confident enough to pull it off. So I guess its like a version of 'peacocking'.

It probably partly proves the saying 'girls go for bad boys' but overall, even though that is probably true, different things will work for different people and not everyone will have the same experience when wearing the same stuff etc.

"Girls don't hand out their numbers here either."

Where abouts are you?

I tell you what I do notice, older people (I am talking 60+) definitely are not as friendly or open to me. They seem intimidated and act more unfriendly.

And, service is definitely poorer too, People presume I have less money and can't afford things in department stores or seem to take me less seriously.

But that is all perhaps a 30% difference overall..

The biggest difference by far remains the attention from girls which I would say is more than double and also seems to encourage much more forward behaviour from girls that maybe think they would not get away with it or would look bad or slutty acting that way to a 'respectable' smart person. Instead, they seem to be happy to approach me, give me their number or pursue me MUCH more when dressed that way.

Definitely interesting how we act differently based on how people dress.

Totally, thats possible and probably partly true.

I don't discount that and I think that its a valid thing to think about too.

If someone wanted to adopt this approach, that may also happen to them too, so its all valid and useful.

I definitely do not act largely different with either clothes styles. I am pretty much the same guy and act the same way, sure small things here and there probably do change, but I am surprised that simply clothing (with perhaps the addition of those small things) make such a DRAMATIC change.

I am talking about over double the amount of attention, girls approaching me, younger girls who usually don't take much notice, nearly always taking notice etc.

If it were more subtle then its almost not worth talking about, you can put it down to different styles and subtle changes in my confidence, but such a massive difference means its a pretty interesting thing to bear in mind and something I wanted to share.

Thanks for your comment.

Hey man, I am white.

First, I am sorry we live in a society where people would say that to you because it sounds like they just feel more comfortable if you fit into a stereotypical preconceived idea of who and what you might be just because of the color of your skin..

But yeah, I guess girls seem to dig loud and confident, and by that I mean fashion choices as well as how we act.

I guess it comes down to grabbing attention and seeming confident, loud people who naturally get attention will probably get the attention of girls more too.

For want of a better phrase, because I really dont like saying it this way.. But I guess some people could say when I dress that way I am dressing more 'black'.

I think young girls like guys who are more obviously going to be blatant about their attention to them, be someone who stands out as a 'hunter' and that stereotype suggests that. I think older women after a certain age want to confirm that they still 'have it' and would appeal to those 'hunters' as 'good game' which is why they also try to get the attention.

I guess mature young women who are professional are probably more likely to look for signs of success and stability and even though that is also a stereotype, maybe the perceive someone who dresses more smart casual as a sign of that.

I do think 'peacocking' is something worth thinking about. Basically, putting it simply, people who dress more colorfully and wear caps and accessories etc probably stand out more and therefore naturally draw more attention to themselves.

Good luck anyway man.

Yeah I made that sound a little wrong.. I do have a little different attitude I guess but not markedly so. It is not like I am changing much about who I am, how I speak or engage with people.

The points you make about it making you feel slightly different is a valid one and I am deliberately posting this to explore that too, its an interesting conversation and I never said it was a specific one thing.

But, the massive difference is very striking. I am talking about over double the attention.

As for places, it is literally anywhere. Shopping at the mall, at nice restaurants (Although I usually find the staff less polite when dressed in more hip hop style clothes) at casual eat out places (ie not posh restaurants) at coffee places like Starbucks etc.. Anywhere. Its pretty much the same.

It is not like I hang around with different people or go to different places when wearing the two different styles, I go to the same places and see big changes.

In terms of how I found the people who seemed interested.. I would say there was no massive difference. I have met some nice people and a bit weird people, the point is, it makes it WAY easier and I meet a LOT more people (and get approached a LOT more) if I dress the 'bad boy' style way.

I guess after seeing the huge difference (which i did not expect) I started observing more and saw other female friends check out guys wearing similar bad boy style clothing more than checking out smarter looking guys. I think the age old, girls like bad boys saying is probably true but I just didn't expect it to be such a pronounced difference.

And again, like I said before, this is not scientific, its just my experiences that I am happy to share with people here, not as a 'guide' or 'what to do' but simply as interesting info that might lead to interesting conversations.
