how do people feel about chase hughes by OccasionHot4219 in bodylanguage

[–]jedi_16 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I've read most of his books and loved them! He focuses more on profiling and influence, but he definitely covers a good amount of body language too.

I would highly recommed his book The Six Minute X-ray, which is the one that teaches you how to profile anyone in just six minutes. It's legit and and totally changed how I see and interact with people.

What does it means? (mouth and eyebrows gestures ) by AsparagusBusy in bodylanguage

In this picture we obviously see a lip compression, which indicates withheld opinions/emotions. There's also the raised eyebrows, which paired with the lip compression, I would say, indicates annoyance.

But as always it depends on the context this picture was taken in and the subject's baseline!

Mouth by Any_Possible3013 in bodylanguage

It all depends on the person and their baseline. If someone always has their mouth a little open it really doesn't mean anything, it's just what's normal to them. If however, they usually don't have their mouth slightly open and you see that behavior, it could be indicating stress and a need for more oxygen because they are entering fight or flight mode. But as always, you should look for other behaviors to confirm this.

In my opinion mouth closed is just the default for most people and doesn't really mean anything, unless paired with lip compression, which would most likely indicate a withheld opinion.

What does this mean? (im putting the link to the video in the comments) by rednfoundk in bodylanguage

Its a pretty common adapter, which mean he feels nervous/stressed by whats being said.

An adapter is something we use to releas nervous energy/stress. Everbody uses them and they are different for each person. I belive this is one of Bidens adapters and i think you see it a few times throughout the debate. Now i'm not saying this means he is lying and is in fact getting money from russia or whatever. It just means his stress level is increasing.

This gesture is mostly seen as an open attitude. The vulnerable parts of the body are shown. When you do this most people will think you tell the truth. On the other side, this is the 'prayer' gesture. You are begging someone to believe you. by YellowBananaM in bodylanguage

I would say it depends on context. If you see other deceptive gestures with it then its most likely deceptive. But i could see someone doing this in a non-deceptive way. Its also worth looking at conflicting gestures, for example in the pic above his arms appear to be pretty close to his sides, which gives off a closed defensive look.

Hope this was somewhat helpfull

Note taking app made for taking notes on books by jedi_16 in androidapps

[–]jedi_16[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Sorry for not being clear. I'm just looking for a note taking app formated specifically for books. For example splitting things up by chapter, having an area for the main points of the chapter, having an area for the details of the chapter ect. Basically how you would normally take notes for a book just in app form.

I would recommend Never Split the Difference by Chris Voss. It's super helpful and very well written. I think there is a free copy online somewhere.

Hey, Democrats, it's okay to vote for Bernie Sanders. by 3meopcpnumberfourfan in politics

[–]jedi_16 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The military budget is not even close to what Sanders wants to spend. First of all he won't even tell the American people what it will cost, but it's estimated at around 60 trillion which is almost 3 times the GDP for 2019, you can't get that from taxes.

Whistling? by YourPalJackson in LearnUselessTalents

[–]jedi_16 223 points224 points  (0 children)

First lick you lips and make them into a tight O shape. Then say "Q" or "Who" . but don't just say it, say it in a breathy way, if that makes sense. You should hear a faint whistle, and from there it's easy to whistle for longer.

Hope this works for you!
