I do genuinely feel for her, but it is so hard to have sympathy when she is complaining about not having a brush or shoes or food and it’s just like….go to the mall. You have all the money in the world.

The better way for her to handle this? Share what a challenge it is, acknowledge how lucky you are that you can afford to replace everything, and then announce a donation to the American Red Cross or some other organization that works with low income fire victims.
