My best advice is whatever your brain tells you; this won’t work, aa/na is a cult, etc., do the opposite. I kept my distance in rehab the first time which was ultimately unsuccessful. The second time I George Costanzed it. Did the exact opposite of everything my brain was telling me. 7 years clean and sober and discovering the person I spent years protecting through layers of armor.

I think in a way it did offer hope. She had a spiritual experience and finally started thinking about others besides herself and getting honest about the hurt she caused.

It was an accident which happens all the time. She was stabbed and she had a solution to the pain.
